- wild Animation/Video Fader Abuse by SceneSat [web]
- Quote:
Putting Lego men on a fader and trying to launch them across the room
Juggling objects (like small balls) from one side to the other
Breaking small sticks between three faders
etc..
No.. I never did any of these myself.. honestly.. don't listen to those liars that say I did...
Now that you mention it, I will absolutely not be launching any small objects around using the faders. The X32 is professional desk after all, designed for serious audio projects and not for silly games.
On an unrelated note, I have to find a ping pong ball. No reason... - isokadded on the 2017-08-10 12:54:20

the main "display" consists of just 8 1D columns which makes it very hard to come up with interesting fx besides the standard frequency bars.
I agree - I experimented with a bunch of manually coded "animations" but didn't manage to make any of them look interesting or pleasing to the eye (besides the wave pattern).
Quote:maybe it can be extended by incorporating moar elements/knobs/leds or maybe even throw in a bit of projection mapping?
Projection mapping could definitely look cool, especially if synced with the animation. That would probably be stretching the line of what can be included in the wild compo though.
The X32 knobs aren't motorised (they're 360° with led indicators around them). Most of the button leds can be accessed but they're sort of scattered around the desk so you'd have to be quite creative visually. :) - isokadded on the 2017-08-10 11:45:07
- demo Windows Sokia by Carillon & Cyberiad [web] & Fairlight [web]
- Looks and sounds fantastic. I struggled to find things to keep me focused and carry me from start to finish (could be a point, a theme, plot, or whatever, call it direction maybe?) Which is why I voted it #2 instead of #1 at asm. Great stuff regardless.

The greetings part alone takes a minute-and-a-half - not saying you should cut it all, but perhaps pick the pace up a bit.
You suggested cutting this down to 1:40 or 1:50. Going to need much more drastic measures than that. What else shall go? - isokadded on the 2017-08-06 20:41:57

Pacing pacing pacing. About 3 times as long as it should be.

- demo MS-Dos Liikennevalosimulaattori by Jon Remedy
- Beginner demo compos ftw! I'm greatly inspired by this to do my own beginner demo (haven't coded anything graphical in well over 10 years).

This was actually the first track I've gotten into a big democompo, so I'm happy to see such a (mainly) positive response. ^^ - rulezadded on the 2012-08-07 18:28:18
