- demo Linux Windows GamePark GP2X iOS nano by Kakiarts [web]
- Very nice! Is there any way to run this doublesized?

- 64k Linux Leet Sweet Petite by lft [web]
- This is by far the best Linux demo I've ever seen. Everything looked fairly stylish and clever...
So why no thumb? The demo exited but didn't restore my old video mode, and gave me no functional mouse pointer. I don't mind the small video mode, but without a functioning mouse pointer I had to restart the X server. - isokadded on the 2006-09-04 01:12:37
- 64k Windows Another Watch by f0x & unc & deMarche
- Wow, so much hypnoglow (especially in the scene with the churchbells) that I could barely see they were churchbells...
I got a constant feeling that the gamma was off in this demo- too high sometimes, too low sometimes... It's too hard to see things. The car and the city/ferris wheel were about the only good parts. - sucksadded on the 2006-09-02 07:12:41
- demo Windows Bulletproof by LowFuel [web]
- Very, very uneven- all scenes have some sorta scrolling overlay, some have an odd 3D Jackson Pollack thing, and then there's the city(?) part, which looked very, very low poly (or maybe my computer isn't displaying it right). It's a pity, since the music was rhythmic and much more powerful than overlays and backdrops and maybe a 3D object.

- demo Windows Four Bitches by Nuance [web]
- Did not run on my computer (went to black after the typewriter ended) and all I got was a veritable cacaphony of noises that didn't really... well, I didn't like it.

- demo Windows my own bullet of autumn by Crolyx
- I think that demo actually kinda disturbed me. Granted, I have no idea what was going on since it was rather nonlinear, other than that the guy got shot, started spewing out leaves, fell over and exploded into leaves.

- demo Linux Windows Die Ewigkeit Schmerzt by Neuro
- Is it just me or is this a genuine (nearly) infinite-zoomer using SVG graphics for really tiny stuff?
Oh, and for me it worked immediately on Ubuntu (Xubuntu to be precise), but then again I've got more than just the default install here. The files you need to get are probably in the universe repository, which must be specially enabled in Synaptic.
I DID, however, have a problem in one screen right after the last german word fades out- the screen went gray and stayed that way until the symbol-zoomer part. - isokadded on the 2006-08-31 01:44:25
- demo Amiga AGA Atari Falcon 030 Starstruck by The Black Lotus [web]
- TBL's strength seems to be combining 3D animations with elegant 2D backgrounds to make things look much more impressive... And it works.
I'll grant you I recognized a lot of the effects from SilkCut, but it's still pretty cool. Especially that last crow at the end- THAT was really impressive animation synching.
Oh, and to whomever said it was videogame-style? I was thinking movie when I saw it... - rulezadded on the 2006-08-21 22:44:12
- demo Windows 1995 by Kewlers [web] & mfx [web]
- Definitely by the people who gave you Variform.
I'm glad the voice synth now sings; that's a plus.
I think I probably would have put the rotating doughnut right before the tunnel, so once you enter the torus you get to the tunnel scene, but eh...
As for 1995... the only 1995-ish things were the raytracing and the first couple moments with the 2d/3d armball thing. Well, that and the style of music.
Otherwise, I'd say Led Blur was much more 1995-ish than this. That said, not having to look at a 1995-style scroller was nice.
PS. Aren't MFX and Kewlers largely the same group of people? Or did you just work together an awful lot? - rulezadded on the 2006-08-21 22:38:50
- 4k Windows Gnosis by GlenZ [web]
- Multipart demo in 4k with nice synth? Count me in...
