• honestly, this is unbelievably good. you managed to make a demo that evokes the feeling of a late 90s DOS demo without resorting to any tired nostalgizing. instead the presentation is just—dare i say it—fresh?
  
  this is some of the best cohesive design i've seen in a demo in years. even the subtle details like running different elements at different rates evoke a distinct cel animation feel. and it's all artifact free, aside from the meticulously composed intentional artifact imitation. and the music too, just perfect! my only nitpick is that the vignetting is too strong, especially when there's occasionally elements placed at the edges of the frame and they get too dark, but that's such a minor point i feel it's barely even worth mentioning.
  
  jeez, i just love this to bits, best demo this year so far. also i don't really drink soda much at all, but the only one i like is fanta, so that just makes it even better for me :D

• can only evaluate this as a casual enjoyer, and in that sense this felt just ok to me. i don't really know what's going on here technically, but it looks like a very average and typical ECS demo to me. i'm mainly still missing more work on the design side, like better use of color and overlay graphics, and more care in little details like the seams in the kaleidoscope effect. the use of digital photographs also still doesn't look good at all imo, no matter how many HAM colors there are. certainly an improvement on the earlier HAM Eager and a good effort in general, but still not there yet.
