- it has sound... i just wanted to get something out of broderick's sequence ;)
btw: movement and colors depend on what's currently on your screen, it's different every time... and try ctrl+tab while it runs - isokadded on the 2008-02-21 10:09:52

- thanks for all comments, and yes, i should really get back on the right track again. scene spirit is much more about active machine domination, and i really appreciate that attitude...

- it depends a lot on your setting if this thing works, technically as well as conceptionally. the three envelopes of the instruments (BD, SN, bass) are directly linked the size of the quads. as you all know the sample rate of sound has always to be much higher than the frame rate of the visuals (44100 Hz <-> 24 Hz)... on my screen the shapes were suddenly strangely synced to the sound, although the pattern was codewise perfectly repeditive. then i added a slight modulation of the frequency of the wobbling "bassline" and the sounds began to interact as well, at least with my headphones. it's kind of a minimal device dependant effect i think.
@crashing machines: my DirectSound code probably doesn't work under vista. or is it crinkler? i'll have to check that soon... - isokadded on the 2008-02-03 15:46:50

- krass! thumb for most brutal audio ever heard in a demo! it's kind of a machine opera... or a mechanical rape, kind of a battle against a crazy machine. or does she transform herself into a machine? it's probably better without any figurative visuals, i think. theres's too much going on...

- works fine here. it's really simple, but there's nothing important missing!
the pattern editor could easily extended a bit visually. it's a bit painful to think always in numbers (octave=12...). notes by name or midi-like editor would be great. and since all patterns have the same length, it would be much easier to edit if all patterns in all sequences were visible at same time. cloned patterns could be highlighted and updated accordingly. just an idea.
yesterday i've finished my own midi parser for a synth and it's still a mess with all the external files... this tracker like interface + code export is much cleaner... so thanks for inspiration :) - rulezadded on the 2008-01-25 14:04:23
