- The camera movement and composition is great (save for one or two camera jerks). Effect-wise it's, well, a flyby plus two effects, of which one (the shattering effect) looks pretty cheap/weird to me. And as has been mentioned, the shadowing is a bit off; in fact, the entire lighting looks a bit weird to me. But this is nitpicking, it is obviously a good prod.

- Nice werkkzeug1 streamkiller (would be nice having a higher-bitrate capture). Also, what dwarf said. :-)

- I know some people look at this series as the epitome of unaccelerated intros, but I don't really get it. The software routines are pretty well-rounded (I have no idea how fast they are relative to everything else, given that I've never seen it on a period machine), but in terms of content, it's not really that impressive. It feels like the same two or three textures everywhere, the music feels like it's repeating at least once too many. Ironically, though, I think it works better as a demo than an intro in that aspect.
In terms of direction, it's also not really hitting the sync, and not having anything like a clear progression. I know we're talking 1998 and show-one-effect-and-then-move-to-next scene was the norm, but somehow I can't help like feeling like this is mostly nostalgia. - isokadded on the 2024-03-12 17:46:09
- demo Windows 1995 by Kewlers [web] & mfx [web]
- There's a lot of nice stuff in here (very few actual weak points), but the music is probably the most memorable for me. Somehow the “retro nostalgia” idea is the one that hits me the least, but it doesn't really matter, given that the execution is so strong.

- 4k Windows Phosphorescent Purple Pixel Peaks by mrange & Virgill [web]
- It's obviously a good prod, and synthwave is a good fit for a 4k, but somehow, it doesn't hit me too much? Perhaps I'm just tired of the color scheme; it feels like there's been many demos with this aesthetic over the years.

- invitation Windows Simulaatio 2015 invitation by Flo [web]
- The YouTube link is outdated (I made a final color tweak and deleted the old upload), but I've added that plus a downloadable version as an extra link.
As for the prod, it's roughly on the low end of invites for me, but I guess it does the job. - isokadded on the 2024-03-03 11:03:54
