- Hmm.. no binaries = no demo, and if I judge by the video it has OK visuals with a ripped tune. I think the cube is better fitted to techno if it's moving like this, the coloured squares were ok but seen many times before, the 'seaweed' effect was cool but needs something other than linear interpolation when it grows (it's like it's being pushed out of the ground by a machine instead of growing, because it stops instantly).

- Amiga OCS/ECS Newtek Demoreel 1 by Newtek
- Ha, I thumbed up demoreel 3 thinking it was this one :D Instant nostalgia. At least it no longer makes me want to buy a digitiser :)

- demo Windows fr-058: disintegrates by Farbrausch [web]
- Hmm.. not sure on this one. It's short compared to the others, and maybe doesn't get the same atmosphere. I'll watch it a few more times and see what comes.

- Whoa, a visualice demo between 828 and 02:22 and I missed it?! WANT! ...downloading now :D

- demo Windows fr-074: 02:20 by Farbrausch [web]
- There's a download link on the vimeo site. You need a vimeo account to access it though. It's 800+MB, so I can understand FR not wanting to host it ;)
While you're on the site, why not upload the dhs stuff and add them to the demoscene group? :) - isokadded on the 2010-05-10 15:28:33
- demo Windows fr-074: 02:20 by Farbrausch [web]
- If you think this lacks cohesion or doesn't have a plot, watch it again ;)

- 8k Java Fractal Mandelbrot
- well, if you're aiming for a tiny demo (say 4kb), then yes make it as small as possible and you'll get more into the demo. If you just want to write effects and make a demo, don't worry about the size so much, just make cool effects instead. If you make cool stuff AND it's small, that's a huge bonus of course :)

- 8k Java Fractal Mandelbrot
- When I ran it, I got the exact area in the screenshot everytime, you might want to check that. Random other advice:
- Don't thumb your own prods up, people will hate you for it ;)
- Java eating some bytes is not a good excuse - check the prods database on this site, there are a lot of java 4ks, and even 1ks and a 512b. That's not to say it's easy, but don't assume it's impossible.
- Releasing your little experiments like this is a bad idea. When you release it as a demo, we expect a demo and not a quick experiment, and judge it as a demo :)
Still, good to see you doing this and getting some feedback. I'd say do a few more, but link them together (preferably with music and a little synch) so you've got a demo. - isokadded on the 2010-05-07 16:14:28
- 8k Java Fractal Mandelbrot
- Looking again, it's 5kb. I guess that makes it a failed 4k. I would have thumbed it down at 4kb too :)

- 8k Java Fractal Mandelbrot
- + quite fast (not that much of an achievement these days..)
- 8kb just for a mandelbrot!
- Just zooms in + out a bit on a really boring area
