  Yes, it's scripted (btw. source code attached if you like to play with A8 256s :)):
  
  fxorder dta b(<fx03,<fx01,<fx02,<fx03,<fx04,<fx01,<fx04,<fx02);
  
  Some combinations of fx were due to specific sequence (and preceeding fx). So it's 4 base fx, and 1-2 additional depending on the sequence (opening one w/o sprite, and some 'overlays' on another one).
  
  Obviously 'fx' is an overstatement here, but hey, it's 256b only. And you can also notice some subtle visual and audible progression as the intro goes.
