  Wellll.. back when I coded 'gateways', I first saw it at full framerate in the compo, because my PC was too slow for it.. =) so seeing stuff at full framerate isn't precisely a requirement for developing it.

  What's the frame rate btw? At least on the original speccy, you can't even memcpy full frame's worth of data at 50hz.

  I don't think it would, as long as the demo could still be watched in "pure" textmode as well. There's been TMDC entries with alternate (graphics) modes..
