- demo Windows Syncroniz by Filax
- codeman, maybe you should join this decade rather than thinking we're still in the early 90s like the other ellesdee guys, open your eyes a touch, and you wouldnt spout crap like "scene is almost dead". =)
on to the prod. farbrausch called, they want their envmaps and glow back. i'll cynically ask, who's responsible for the animation, is it nicked?
apart from lack of originality and ideas (so much so it looks almost like a parody of modern demos at times), i've seen a hell of a lot worse. would have done ok at most of the democompos this year. so for that and as a first prod, well done indeed =)

- intro Windows DBFADTRO by Dark Bit Factory [web]
- well, at least it ran too fast, not too slow (like a lot of so-called "oldschool" stuff did recently). fuckings for not exiting straight away after pressing escape, tho =)

- demo Windows continuously eluding subject by qop [web]
- good effort and a lot of work by mainly one person.
but, it's like a list of all the things i dont like in pc demos today..
- no new ideas whatsoever.
- has that nasty rendertotextured+filtered upsampled look.
- radial blur. gah.
- envmapping on everything.
- bad colour scheme.
- all the scenes are just different blobby looking objects, with different colour scheme. could even be the same object, i dunno =) at least none are memorable or stand out.
- those overlay layers - so plain, just horizontal bars etc.
- it's way too long and repetitive.
- the music is ok, but again nothing stands out.
- not quite in sync. everything was slightly off (here, anyway), which didnt help the mood.
it's not a _bad_ demo - everything is in place, the presentation (startup window etc) was good, it seems solid and everything.. it's just really unimaginative and derivative. i pretty much forgot the whole thing straight away after watching, except the greets scene. smells like a demo where a lot of work went into the base system, and then the demo got put together at the party :)
anyway, i hope you'll go and find a bit more style and some more ideas for next time. =)
