- demo Windows Inflorescence by mfx [web]
- one of the most polished mfx releases i think. Really dig the classic sci-fi theme. Some nice quotes from the movie Lifeforce during credits.

- demo MS-Dos/gus Dope by Complex [web]
- Watching jugi working on it on TG95 i didn't think it would be that big.. but then i saw it on the bigscreen and it was HUGE :). Better than the sum of its parts. You can tear it appart and point fingers, but as a whole it's got that confident attitude that separates an excellent demo from a merely good one.
I think most people who where born back in '95 can attest that it truly felt like world domination. - rulezadded on the 2009-10-15 10:31:35
- demo Windows blunderbuss by Fairlight [web]
- Great piece. Looking forward to seeing the particles again.
It's a good thing being inspired by other works, makes you work harder trying to get there. Just like many ASD demos seemingly being inspired by the 'minds eye' series (correct me if i'm wrong. love the demos) - rulezadded on the 2009-10-07 17:00:56
- demo Windows Quantum by Outracks [web] & Nazareth [web]
- Can't stop listening to the music. Some really nice scenes like the infinite clockworks and the tunnel. Feel that the scanlines/distortion distracts the otherwise clean and sleek style.
bottom line, nice prod. - rulezadded on the 2009-10-04 10:10:16
- demo Commodore 64 Edge of Disgrace by Booze Design
- Haven't seen a C64 demo in a while, but was told to watch this one.
I can't really comment on individual effects code-wise as i haven't been following the c64-scene, but i did have a C64 for about 5 years in the mid 80's (which is where i got into demos in the first place), and the quality of the effects seems more in place on a A500 than a C64. Impressive.
The graphics looks very nicely done, especially from a technical perspective. Nice technique. Those Summer Glau cyborg motives does help give the demo a coherent theme.
..but what really sealed the deal for me was the music. I used to dig Sid tunes instead of A-ha and Duran-Duran when i was back in primary school and this one is quickly becoming a favourite. Like how it's structured. Pieces stuck together in a natural way not sounding patched, and it's maintheme kicking in at the right moments. My fav moment from the soundtrack must be around 8:30 leading up to (and especially during) the blue Monica Bellucci (?) zoomer.
Sorry for the rambling. Thumbs up for Dane and the rest of BoozeDesign for providing the chills in winter'08s. I'll be watching that scene more closely in the future. - rulezadded on the 2008-11-23 13:41:35
