- Usually I tend to frown upon demos that rely on a ready made engine. Nothing wrong with it and I'll usually take the position that's perfectly fine, apart from a nagging feeling that it takes away the technical aspect of demos. It's especially true if all a demo has to offer is basically what the engine offers out of the box, typically with UE4, its slick rendering and in-your-face lighting and post-processing.
But here it's not the case. What makes this demo worth watching is certainly not the engine. The solid visual design, ominous soundtrack and the carefully built up tension work to make a short but strong impression.
It is not without flaws either: the second scene feels out of place and amateur compared to the rest, and the skull LOD pop is hard not to notice.
So it's maybe not as strong as one of the most glorious earlier Assembly winners or best Quite demos, but I still wish I had seen it on big screen, because it must have been quite an experience. - rulezadded on the 2016-08-11 07:51:13

- Blatant steal. That some source code is available doesn't mean you can take it and pass it as your own.

- The concept works well, and I'm impressed by the piano sound although I have no idea how difficult that is to pull off.

- demo Windows Terminal 7 by Cocoon [web]
- @ntsc_: I could run it. The problem is weird though: after some googling, I tried running it as an administrator. It didn't work but this time I had a more explicit error, about it being unable to load d3dcompiler_47.dll. Yet DX was properly installed and that this dll was present. Anyway, I copied the dll in the demo's folder and it could run just fine. So I don't really understand what happened in here.
Side note: as zoom noted, the tearing is really damaging the experience. - isokadded on the 2016-07-21 13:59:27

Windows 7 64b, GTX 970.
It's too bad to have to watch this on Youtube, with all the detail lost in a muddy video.
It's cool to see here some of the light effects no other tech can do. I also liked the mirror effect (although it wasn't exploited to its full potential), the city blue tunnel, and the final cable scene.- isokadded on the 2016-07-19 07:57:14

- The first part was weird, then it took a decent shape.
