- Didn't expect this much story in a 1k. Shmup themes seem to be popular this year. :p

- demo Commodore 64 Broken by Quadtrip
- Very unconventional! Lots of good scenes and the most interesting SID track in just about forever. This is the kind of C64 prod I like and always want to see more; mad props.

- game Windows MacOSX Intel Crisis Wing - Caravan Edition by Pieslice Productions
- @Fell, caravan mode is a concept in shoot-'em-ups where you have to aim for maximum score in a timed stage (2, 3, or 5 minutes are common). Survival difficulty is often relaxed—some games even give you unlimited lives in caravan modes—but maxing-out the score can be quite difficult. You'd often get bonuses for speedkilling, scenery destruction bonuses, pickup bonuses, etc., which put all together basically necessitate learning the stage completely by heart, and then executing the route flawlessly. These games and modes were typically made for competitions so you'd find them among home console releases most of the time.
Obvious examples are Hudson's Star Soldier series (the original game made Takahashi Meijin and his 16 presses per second a nationwide meme in Japan in late 80s) and Summer Carnival series by other developers (of which SC '92 Recca is perhaps the most prominent—check it out! Its main developer went on to create one of the most innovative shmups in history, Battle Garegga, in 1996). One of the more modern shmups that include a caravan mode is Cave's Dangun Feveron (aka. Fever SOS, released in 1998) which recently got a brilliant rerelease on the PS4.
Also, congratulations to the authors for the well-deserved victory! - isokadded on the 2017-08-05 17:34:49

- I believe the CW/CCW option is for pivotable displays, so you can play in vertical fullscreen (aka. tate mode) like in an arcade cab. Good attention to detail right there, btw.

- 4k 8k Windows Maintenance by LJ & TBC
- Convincing atmosphere, fitting music, and surprising amount of content. Shame it wasn't able to compete in the category it was intended for.
Truly 2017 will be remembered as the year of 4k, though it's a shame so many amazing prods didn't get the recognition they deserved because of the compo oversaturation. - rulezadded on the 2017-05-22 16:52:53
