- demo Windows Digital Jugendstil - Topologie der Stille by Traction [web]
- also.
it's worthless - and again, it wouldn't deserve any comments. but although i should have learned better, i can't hold it this time: the people who made this obviously lack the slightest idea of composition in every single dimension being used or missused. and the "nice interpretation" is: you don't have the slightest talent. you should better stop doing this, it's annoying. - isokadded on the 2005-09-05 19:09:24
- demo Windows Digital Jugendstil - Topologie der Stille by Traction [web]
- annoying, disturbingly short, pointless, tedious, slow and boring. i liked the old traction-style better.

- demo Windows Final Audition by Plastic [web]
- ok i did some blind debugging and what i see is that the crash happens at 0x42D944 after one of the glMapBufferARB(0x8892, 0x88BA); calls returns NULL and the code tries to copy something on that address. hope that helps, if you want more you can contact me on irc/icq/msn.

- demo Windows YAB3DFD by Smash Designs [web]
- AND: IT IS THE ONLY DEMO SO FAR USING MODERN RENDERING TECHNIQUES THAT RUNS FLUENTLY ON A CRAPPY GF5200. Though probably not important by itself it definately deserves a big fat bonus.
Wake up, Neo, your card sucks and what's modern again? Reflections? Simulated volumetric lighting with alphalayers? Lasers?
Sheesh. It's a very solid engine (as seen in the prior productions) with decent rendering speed, but the featureset isn't too fresh-looking. (No offence intended though.) - isokadded on the 2005-09-01 03:17:18
- demo Windows YAB3DFD by Smash Designs [web]
- medicore music, lack of design, lack of everything? hello this font is ugly and else, hmmm it feels a bit empty.
*cough*
But let's just view objectively.
- Nice 3D - as usual, still lacking at least some kind of an extra. (The DTV video stream made it look far better because it contrasted the colors a bit.)
- Fast engine.
- Camera speeds up and slows down at the end of the spline, essentially breaking the consistency into little pieces because the whole demo starts to fluctuate. I don't know if you use 3DSMax or not, but there's a checkbox for "Constant velocity" - it does magic on this.
- Worst font since MS Comic Sans, no typography or anything, everything is written with the same size, weight, kerning, or variants.
- Cheap votefishing attempt with a Commodore-logo.
- Nice lasers.
- Attempted design by placing the greets in the top left but leaving the rest of the screen essentially empty.
- OK music, but still lacking a climax or something which sets the mood - the demo doesn't exploit anything related to it, no sync, no buildup, no interpretation.
- Nice reflections, but in 2005 I kinda expect them to be at least a bit distorted (especially for the water)
All in all, the title still fits. Props for being at least moderately self-critic.
(Footnote to Fzool: typo's are fine, but don't tell me you also accidentally press shift meanwhile...) - isokadded on the 2005-09-01 03:03:19
