- that's a list of things on the compo machine, not neccesairily the requirements of the demos running on it. Plus, they're not in the info file.
True, this was more a stab at what Trace had to bitch about. But that doesn't change the fact that this demo doesn't run without having to fiddle around.
And hey, my distro seemed devoid of wine -but that was nothing adding a line in the repository list could beat. You could consider bitching less about the frailities of life :) - isokadded on the 2006-08-30 22:21:29

- Tribao: That was obvious, and not the point of the post :)
As trace so eloquently put it elsewhere:
Quote:Looks like it's not in Ubuntu.
I mean, I don't have any problema about installing stuff, but I don't think is fair :)
...and paniq was just showing off his love for cock and ranting about how the manual omitted how to apt-get stuff, but the gist is the same -*his* demo doesn't work without having to run off and install crap that isn't already there either :) - isokadded on the 2006-08-29 23:45:55

Info file doesn't help a hopeless n00b like me either. So... in other words:

- Since people are jerking off to 1995, this seriously ought to be called 1999. It's the same kind of demo that people did back then, only with proper glow, corny water effects, smooth transitions and bumpmapping that hardware wouldn't allow for back then. Kudos for doing this on 1280x1024 with 4x FSAA without making my GPU even notice you guys passed by.

- In the ongoing trend of not installing .NET for .NET demos, buying Xboxes to watch Xbox demos and not installing drivers, directx or Java Runtime, I am not surprised anymore.

- You sure seem to love the cock.
Why stop there? Might as well not reveal the specific hardware specs and force people to build their own configuration, stacking failure upon failure until they got the right graphics card and network adapter combination.
We can go on about how deranged things can get within the confines of your imagination, but lay off the cocks and try a book on communication. I'm sure you mean well and all, but calling people cocks because they don't adhere to your jihad standards is just going to make this thread a cockfest. - isokadded on the 2006-08-22 15:30:41

If that can't produce any exe, I fail to see how this is a demotool release
Quote:our aim with these releases is mainly to show people how we do things not to do stuff _for_ them.
So it's not a demotool, you brainiac! :)
I'll have fun weeding through it once I'm actually back behind my own desk, but lose the "tool" aspect. - isokadded on the 2006-08-22 12:31:17

Quote:there is no glew module in my distro
Waaah! Waah! Wasn't the whole point to your stupid OS jihad that you can easily add it anyway? Half the challenge is getting things to work under Linux ;)
Also, good luck finding the secret part, people!
