  I remember an intro (a BBS intro?) which had exactly the same floppy but possibly on a starry background and with a scroller text. Any hints what could it be?

  Since there's no better source of information (looking at you lft), I'm transcribing from the screen:
  "Custom ATtiny15-based hardware. Analogue and digital electronics, 1.6MHz, 32 bytes (!) RAM, 1 kB ROM, produces a VGA signal and mono sounds."
  
  Not to say that this demo isn't cool but I personally expected "analogue and digital electronics" not to include a microcontroller. I guess it's an idea for the next creation :D

• @JAC! I missed it where it was said that there is a microcontroller in this contraption. My guess is that there is none.
