- Trilkk: that's right. I used similar method described in GPU Gems 1 chapter 12 "Omnidirectional Shadow Mapping"; simply storing the depth values in color framebuffer. Another limitation is that rendering into a cubemap doesn't work on RasPi, so I solved this by using one single 512x512 texture and divided that into 6 subtextures for the six faces of the cube.
