- I really want to take a closer look at that voxel blowfish in the beginning. first time I see an actual 3d model based on this voxelball technique. At least that is what I think it is. Make some more of this pls! The music is really something else than what we are used to in demos. Well done. It is a bit like being in a Monkey Island demo. cool :) The pointsprite submarine is also cool. This particular scene would have done a lot more with a second layer of parallax behind the submarine for more depth. In fact the only downer in the demo is that backgrounds feel a bit static.. Maybe some subtle palettemodulation or if possible a series of nearly similar background frames looping as an anim. Just something to create movement in the static pixels.

- Awesome graphics design in this one! I love that you blow everything in 1:52 instead of stretching it because : "a demo should be >3 minutes long". It is much better to run a tight show in a short time. If you need more entertainment you can always go watch something else afterwards. I've seen it many times now and I still see new pictures and stuff happening in the blink of an eye. AFAIK only Ozone do this kind of timing/pace on the Amiga scene.
The theme has a very aggressive/confident/in your face attitude which makes it perfect for drum n bass and it is also good for making a winner demo I think. It was cool reading about the effort that went into it. More scrollers pls :)
Next time I'd like to see some more new code. It is hard to tell what to put in which would fit in a similar demo, but I guess more advanced 3d is the way to go. Environment mapped normal maps, baked ambient occlusion, bilinear dithered filtering springs to mind as things which are cheap enough on amiga and can add more quality. Maybe some waterdrops/liquid effects or late night buzzed out at the disco inspired effects? hehe. who knows. Nice to see ozone back :) - rulezadded on the 2010-04-12 09:38:04
