- I loved it but I have to wonder how much bigger than 96k it was - it looked like it could've been squeezed down below the size limit. If this had fit into 96k it feels like it should've won :D. Still, a bigger game but with more features sounds rockin' ;D.

- 96k game Linux Rise of the Cubes by NecroStudios [web]
- Kinda impressive! Unfortunately, I don't think this was the right place or the right time to unveil this game, though. It doesn't do it justice on a big screen in front of a thousand rowdy sceners waiting to be entertained ;).

- How often do you do some party coding and win 1st prize ;D? Well, I wouldn't know, but it's still cool :). Especially since I know how rushed it was. It was really nice to sit next to the guys and see how it evolved :). The source code is available - go extend the game :D! I recommend score boards, different play modes (is the objective to squish or save the guys :)?) etc etc.

- <SPOILERS>
Hah! This was really entertaining. Although - and I can't believe that I'm saying this ;) - they could probably have done something technically more impressive than streaming pre-rendered video (since that has already been done). Something that blew my mind was how stuff like the roboshark scene from "Starstruck" almost looked better through the "16" (interpolated) colours of the C64 than in the original versions. I might be imagining things, but the colours looked really beautiful. So that was technically impressive. Having said that, this demo was extremely funny and entertaining and the rickroll was side-splittingly funny ;D.

- demo wild Wild Phasor by lft [web]
- Great and thoroughly impressive stuff, no doubt, but I'm kinda glad that this didn't win since there really isn't that much big of a difference between this and "Craft". Not big enough to justify 1st place at Breakpoint. I'm hoping that this style of wild demo making lives on and that someone manages to do something even cooler than Linus' stuff :).

- I cannot watch this without bursting into uncontrollable laughter ;D. The movements of that digital beast simply look too damn spastic and hilariously flailing ;D. Awesome! And I actually feel like the beast is mimicing the behaviour of a dog. Kinda. So that's pretty cute :D.
... Oh, and the fact that the guy's squeezed in physics and genetic programming and algorithmic music and stuff in 4k is also mindblowing :D. - rulezadded on the 2010-04-05 23:28:19
