- nope, sorry, everything i said about halfsome applies here as well, twice as much.
this is not a demo, this is a "best of" from 5 different demos (that didn't get released), none of which has anything to do with any of the others. adding the same cookie cutter design elements ("let's put some arrows and lines here!) is not direction. using the by now trademark (for flt) graffiti-style logos regularly is not coherence. and the soundtrack even manages to underline (or reflect?) how this demo stubbornly refuses to become a whole.
don't get me wrong: pick any of the individual elements - 2d, meshes, lighting, the individual segments of the tune, the effects - and it's nothing short of truly excellent work. but the complete lack of any direction (this demo literally doesn't know where it's going!) drags it down tremendously; far worse than just leaving a bad taste in my mouth, it completely ruins the experience for me. hence the piggy. - isokadded on the 2007-08-05 03:56:15
- demo Windows Tivi by Dope [web]
- hm.
it's a nice effort, but thoroughly unoriginal (don't take that personally) and simply not very memorable. piggy. - isokadded on the 2007-08-05 03:44:07
- demo invitation Windows XBOX 360 f07 - The Function 2007 Invitation by Conspiracy [web]
- this is actually cns' first demo if i'm not mistaken, so congratz! :)
i love the high energy in there and it's a really cool demo. minor nag is that like binary flow, it's really slick, but it doesn't work as an invitation. (sure, the party is mentioned regularly, but it still feels like an aside). - rulezadded on the 2007-08-05 03:36:27
- demo XBOX 360 The Stellarea by mfx [web]
- this is just not good.
but it's short enough not to make me angry at having spent time watching it, so piggy :) - isokadded on the 2007-08-05 03:06:55

- demo Windows Lifeforce by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- okay, loses a lot when viewed the second time, in real, not over a blurry inet stream :)
don't misunderstand this, this is still REALLY great, but on the stream it had this aura of pixel perfect polish all over it and that just disappears when viewed up close in hires :). this is still by far the best demo in the compo and the best asd demo so far, though (which is saying rather a lot).
best demo ever? silly category. best demo in 2007 so far? certainly a very serious contender. but i'm heavily biased: debris at bp07 and the hours following it were probably the most awesome experience of my life. so forgive me if this one currently only makes #2 on my personal best of '07 :) - isokadded on the 2007-08-05 02:44:13

- demotool Windows kkrunchy by Farbrausch [web]
- most recent test version (asm07 special :) at http://www.farbrausch.de/~fg/kkrunchy/test/kkrunchy_023a4_asm07.exe. somewhat slower than previous versions, due to some tweaks that increase run time (and memory usage) but increase compression, as that seems to be what people want. whatever :)

- demo Windows ZINE #12 Headlines by Andromeda [web] & Brainstorm [web] & BitFellas [web]
