- demo Commodore 64 Continuum by Triad [web]
- Very nice demo. Loved the greetings scroller, the 3D Sierpinski plotter and the lens-ish (?) effect (didn't like the ornament though). Voxel landscape, although technically very nice, shouldn't really be made on the 64, IMHO. It just won't look any good, and that should always trump the technical achievement. But the demo is lovely and is definitely a thumbs up.

- demo Amiga AGA Nexus-7 by Andromeda [web]
- This should have enough thumbs up to be among top 20 (or even top 10). Unfortunately, I've already given mine.

- diskmag Commodore 64 Scene World #21 by People Of Liberty [web] & Scene World Magazine [web]
- A bit thin on content and a horrible navigation, but love the effort and for that it's a thumb ub :)

- demo SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive Overdrive by Titan [web]
- Cool demo, but low on new ideas. Just the usual fx that's used in most other demos on oldschool platforms. Twisters & plasmas, not in a new way either. But still a thumb up for a good demo vibe.

- demo Commodore 64 Frontier by Hoaxers & Wrath Designs [web]
- Edit: I see now that the oldschool compo was for all Amigas (and Atari etc.). That could mean 68060@50mhz with 32mb.

- demo Commodore 64 Frontier by Hoaxers & Wrath Designs [web]
- Really nice demo. Love the flow, the graphics and the smooth effects.
@Stingray: It's not the extra ram that is the reason they used a REU, but rather the fast memory transfering (DMA) that can be done by using the REU controller.
Seeing that this demo was competing in an Oldschool compo at a PC party and not a C64 compo it could potentially be competing against Amiga demos (OCS/ECS) which more often than not use memory expansions (most Amiga 500 demos require 1mb+). So I don't see the fuzz about using the same advantage on the 64 in that case. Although I also prefer C64 demos to not require REU's. - rulezadded on the 2013-07-15 12:12:16
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Rink a Dink: REDUX by Lemon.
- I agree with their decision. OCS/ECS is closer to the other oldschool computers than a 50mhz 128mb AGA Amiga. If AGA demos was restricted to stock A1200 it would be a whole nother story.

- demo Windows 5 faces by Fairlight [web] & Cloudkicker [web]
- Looks beautiful, but it's not very exciting. Too slow pace.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Rink a Dink: REDUX by Lemon.
- So the lesson learnt here is that old OCS/ECS geezers should take their old machine out of the shrine and start producin' again ;-). This fantastic demo has to inspire old Amiga sceners again no?

- demo Windows Spacecut by Carillon & Cyberiad [web]
- Cool demo, but I'm so tired of dubstep in demos after all these years. 1st rule of originality: Don't use dubstep.
