Nuclear information 346 glöps
- demo MS-Dos/gus Oedema animae cogunt by Rustbloom
- I understand the limitations of the 386, and that this runs in a ridiculously high resolution for the target machine. But I just don't consider scrolling images an interesting demoeffect. I've seen impressive and interesting 386 and 286 demos. This one is not one of them.

- Nice! For such a rushed prod, this is really cool!

- 4k Linux TECHNOMANCER by epoqe [web]
- Building such a mood and atmosphere in 4k is definitely something. The fact that it runs on GNU/Linux is doubly interesting to me. Beyond being able to finally run a cool intro natively on my PC, it also means you made the effort to create your own tooling instead of using all the same tech everyone else is using to make windows intros.

- About the tunnel:
We're swapping between 4 textures, all contained in the data/tunnel2.png, one regular and 3 pre-blurred by different amounts, see src/scr/tunnel.c (the other tunnel texture files were included by accident, they were experiments of similar but slightly different versions of the texture set). Besides swapping the pre-blurred variants of the texture, the effect is a bog-standard pre-calculated polar tunnel mapping, and shifting the vertical texture offset to "move" through the tunnel, and of course also depth cueing/fog.
The particle dispersion is a pre-calculated perlin noise vector field, every time each particle is accelerated by the vector corresponding to its current position. Previous particle frames are blured and new particles are additively added on top (idea ripped from ibiza experience/orange).
phoenix: libanim is my generic keyframe track interpolation library. It's mainly used by the demosystem to interpolate event values in various ways: https://github.com/jtsiomb/libanim/ - isokadded on the 2025-08-03 21:37:37

- This took us a while to finish, but it was a fun project. Hope you all enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. Thanks to everyone involved!
