- Yep I was referring to the voting results. I can't imagine working for however long it took to construct this and then come in 6th behind at least 2 vastly inferior works. This, the MFX/Kewlers entry, and the Nuance prod beat the crap out of the Spontz and Calodox entry. I'm not saying this to put the other demos down, I'm sure if I was in on the joke I'd find them quite funny. I'm just saying I'd be pretty pissed if it happened to me. Was it a popularity contest type thing? Anyone who attended care to comment?
Anyhow, big kudo's on the demo, NeARAZ, I liked it alot. Reminds me of when the scene was more than an inside joke. - isokadded on the 2004-05-08 05:00:55

- This is some kind of a joke, right? As I go up the windows demos for bp04, the prods get worse and worse. Please tell me it's a joke or i'm reading it wrong.
+good design +nice effects
-repetitive (but not bad) music -pixelated shadowmap when close -seems a bit too long / idea underdeveloped.
I hope the rankings are a prank, this and the mfx/kewlers prods were much nicer than the rest (saw 5 of the top 6 listed here)... - rulezadded on the 2004-05-06 01:47:11

- I love demos that make you ask "crap, did I fry my video adapter!" Very ambient. Me likes. Tho I must agree that some of the effects were not very polished.
i2pi, gimme the number of your drug dealer... - isokadded on the 2001-05-03 18:06:51

- Is anyone else here sick of pure 3d demos? I dunno about the engine, it ran nice on my system, and yeah, it looks nice, and yeah, the story/ idea was decent. But it was just a 3d scene viewer... I'm not saying its easy, but it's totally unoriginal. Was there a single "effect" in here? I don't remember one. Just a lot of objects. Good gfx, good snd, good code, crap design.

- demo Windows Propaganda by inf
- my 2c: I enjoyed this a lot BUT- This dropped tons of frames at certain parts, and I have a 1.2 ghz w/ ATI radeon 64ddr and 512K ram.... not a wimpy system. Remember the days when demos were optimized so they would run at 30 fps (24 for you european types) _STEADY_ on a 7 mhz amiga? What system was this developed on? A 1.7 ghz P4!?
Not that I have (or prolly could) do any better. And the sync w/ music made for a overall excellent demo. This ones more about style than hardcore code (most of the effects in here could be replicated in Winamp AVS....) Again, gripes aside, I liked this one, not your usual boring 3ds viewer. - isokadded on the 2001-05-03 17:49:18

- What I want to know: Is it legal to use a commercial mp3 in a production?
I'd guess it is as long as no profit was made; so if it was a compo entry, that would be illegal.
But this was an advertisement, so couldn't money made from the party be considered in this...?
Or is the party not-for-profit? Does it matter either way, since money changed hands...?
It's an _incredible demo_ either way... good graphics, terrific design and coding... (love the smile at the end the best) - isokadded on the 2001-03-30 06:51:35
