- 64k MacOSX PPC 64k by Immersion [web]
- the originals were under 64k, but i don't think any of the osx ports were under 64k.

- demo MacOSX PPC Door by HyperCube [web]
- optimus: i'm pretty sure its possible to use the osx desktop as a rendering surface for demos. Some mac demos use a fullscreen borderless window instead of fullscreen mode, so its possible to work in other windows while they run. The interface in osx is opengl accellerated too, so its probably pretty fast to do interesting things like that.
I remember a few amiga programs that did funky effects in the workbench background, some with nice copper effects or plasmas. Windows can do the same (i'm sure theres an option in winamp to do visualisations on the desktop) but its fairly slow.
Macs have a load of interesting possibilities for messing with the gui, as its all opengl, and there's already a lot of nice effects going on (switch users and the screen rotates on the side of a cube to reveal the other users desktop, windows minimise like liquid, and the dashboard appears with a zoom blur...) but i think its not that easy to hook in and modify stuff. - isokadded on the 2005-06-22 14:34:21
- demo MacOSX PPC RushDock by Trauma
- the 64k application contains an icon.. and the icon takes around 50% of that space. So its pretty small.

- demo MS-Dos Saint by Halcyon & Da Jormas [web]
- I remembered this as being alright, not great. But on rewatching, most of it is, indeed, great. A few less great parts, but the start especially rules.

- Is there more than one easter-egg? Cause the one i found had a slightly hplus-like scene, but nothing more..

- demo MacOSX PPC Door by HyperCube [web]
- optimus: its the mac equivalent of the task bar on windows. Works just like this: http://jrgraphix.net/research/flash_dock.php
Dock demos are demos that run as a dock icon, 128x128 resultion at 32bit with transparency. - isokadded on the 2005-06-20 16:48:18
- 64k MacOSX PPC 64k by Immersion [web]
- technically the second 64k, but the first 64k with multiple scenes, sound etc. The sound side needs some work, the visual side is looking promising. I'm interested to see what can be done with the engine for a more serious production :)

- Also (correct me if i'm wrong) I believe this is the first true 64kb demo on osx! (I missed that.. the file info on OSX isn't too clear). (And yes, there are a few earlier 64k's listed for osx.. but as far as i'm aware they're all ports, and all are larger than 64k).

- and finally it finishes the download...
and yes, it was worth the wait. Worth it for a good capture of hplus alone.. and i'd forgotten just how superb chimera was.. and now i have all the others to watch, and all the extras, but its already earned a massive thumb from me: - rulezadded on the 2005-06-20 14:23:04
