- This intro is variation of "plasma effect". There is a "sine generator" - no sine instruction on 6502 (nor easily accessible in Atari OS) so had to be code-generated. The generated sine is iteratively modified by OS timer (xor) for having different patterns. In the same loop character set and colors are set.
Transition between effects is done by having proper state of registers on entrance to sine generator. Sound is an output of OS timer modified by register state in the screen drawing procedure.
For final optimization it uses code snippet I found in the OS for 16bit decrement, very useful for full-screen effect. Source code included in the download archive. - isokadded on the 2021-03-15 13:21:59
