- At least 15% more pipes than Kasparov.
I think it was rather pleasing! I bit futuristic and I liked the warped grid. The pipes reminded me of an oldschool font I once saw. You know, like it was possible to read the demo as text but you're just not able to process the writing.
Good job with the music as well! Should have ranked higher, but with all that pixel violence going on in this compo (and the 64kb) it is no suprise I guess. - rulezadded on the 2018-08-20 16:22:27

- Quote:It took some effort to find out what you deemed as rascist, but I think you reffered to the word geishas at the 1:23 mark? Personally I think it dispays a lack of respect in such a perfectly executed way that this can't be seen in a rascist context. It is clearly a parody on itself, or on the bragging culture in hiphop if you want. Isolated it could be seen as rascist, but that is clearly not the case here. I doubt spacepigs wanted to hurt a specific group. This demo is ment to look down on everybody, of all races and all colors that is why the guy is sitting on a big sign looking down, showing how cool he is in each shot :)
racist shit, as well as a crappy demo. but what else do you expect from spacepigs, a bunch of infantile assholes.
Well deserved thumb up! Oh and thanks for the yt-subtitles. - rulezadded on the 2018-08-20 15:19:16

- That rocked hard on the bigscreen. Sounded way louder than everything that came before it even. Lovely visuals, that scene in red with the far reaching perspective comes to mind. Also of course the screenshot. Solid job and vool to dee this release after the seminar. "this is is what I made earlier". Congrats on the well dervered win!

Also, wonder what Senser thinks about this demo. IMO the tune and this demo work together very well and deliver the solid message.

Haha, so awesome. They think it is ok in 2015 and we probably took years discussing that it was wrong. Both could exist together of course (rule violation, orginal authors agree). Still funny though :) - isokadded on the 2018-08-10 17:26:21

- Quote:Yeah but it their own commercial product. It started out as a demoenigne. But even if that wasn't the case they coded every line themselfs. Sure by now they have expanded and others have chipped in, but Notch isn't comparable with UE in the way it related to the scene. UE was never ment to make demos with. Notch is the other way around: in the beginning I'm quitte sure they never thought they would tour the world over with Beyonce and Coldplay. UE is targeted to serve gamers as endusers.
Yeah what the fuck is that about, people whining about UE shouldn't give Fairlight a pass either. Own engine? Blow me, that thing was made as a commercial product.
I made some cash as well by vj'ing using our own demos made with our own engine. I know serveral other groups who operate along the same line. The line is blurred soemtimes. Nothing wrong with making money right?
Quote:Agreed. No one should be forced to write boilerplate code, but at least give credit wehere credit is due.It does not matter, making demos like this is still a time consuming art. Some people just decide not to spend it on boilerplate code.
