  btw, a not that well-known thing is that you can convert it to a straight cube with a hexeditor by nopping out (replacing by 90h) three bytes at D2h.
  and sorry for being that slow. it really depends on the processor type (and moon phase, etc :). for example it was much faster on the celeron 700 notebook i coded it than on the 2+ ghz compo machine... (also, it was pretty fast when it was ~350 bytes instead of 256 :)

• gargaj/hitchhikr: thanks for the info. just if you told me that when i asked for it back then, i was more in the mood of fixing than these days :) [i even tried based on the info i had, and sent a version to somebody with an ati card, but did not work. coding for a hardware you don't have is not really fun]

• it's not the card, it's the crappy ati opengl drivers (works with the older drivers). there're quite a lot of scene productions with the same problem. starting with some farbrausch ones, iirc. if _YOU_ send me a fucking ati card - as i don't have any and has no intention to buy _ANY_ fucking gfxcards in the near future - then i will try to fix it (again, as in fact i already tried, but did not succeed without accessing an ati card)
