- demo MS-Dos/gus project angel by Impact Studios
- Didn't see it back then. From a fresh perspective, it looks horribly game-ish, with some half-hearted FC influences to fill up the cracks.

- demo Commodore 64 Faux Visage by Panda Design [web]
- radiantx, I gave the demo another spin to listen to the music more closely and I think, yes, the instruments are at fault. They just sound unsophisticated and mushy to me (drums + that weird saw tooth(?) bass-lead). A distinguished mix (distinct frequency bands for certain instruments, you can't do much in the stereo field, since there is none :) often help, f.e. your Cruel Angel Thesis cover is doing a much better job at that.
And as for the composition: Whatever you try to do here (prog? chaoscore?), imho you don't get your point across very well. This type of music demands a high level of precision and balance, in combination with ingenuity, and I realize that this is hard to do and won't come easy to most people making music.
Although it does not compare very well, I think automatas/Goto80 is working very well in that regard. It sounds so effortless and has some cute melody hooks between all the madness. :) - isokadded on the 2009-07-28 11:49:41

Nice to see my first released 4k is so well-off :)
I'm actually astonished about his much praise for an "ok" 4k like this. :) - isokadded on the 2009-07-27 19:05:40

- As a (former) one-man-army myself, I sympathize with this kind of demo effort, but it doesn't cloud my judgment, in so far that this could have been a lot better with some more hands involved. The music is more erratic than intriguing and some of the gfx are pretty awkward. Still, it's the best PD demo so far and small demo outfits are just as needed as the big ones. :)

- If you're not too picky, you can always use the recording feature in VICE in combination with your favourite encoder.

- The particle morpher (or whatever you want to call it) looks neat, but yeah, a bit underwhelming overall.

- Too many copies imho, but the new gfx mode rocks. :)

- demo Commodore 64 Andropolis by Booze Design & Instinct
- Rocks for sure. For a while I thought the 3d scene was the last and looping endlessly, so it's really too long, but other than that, it's awesome.
