- (and if you mind to ask... no, the loader is part of the os, or, lately, of the packer, so there's pretty nothing a coder can easily and safely and hassle-less do to workaround that)

- stingray: when you link the executable you link it against a dll with a precise filename, like, indeed, d3dx9_25.dll. when the executable get loaded, the loader goes to search that dll, and it, reasonably, don't care if there's a d3dx9_25+1.dll around. so, simply, go visit the microsoft shop and download the laster dx redistributable package. automagically you enpower your system with all those magical d3dx9_XX.dll from the very first to the very last one :)
