Oh, and wayfinder owned me :-) - rulezadded on the 2003-12-24 18:47:08
- demo Windows Cafre by Stravaganza [web]
- Factoid: Cafre in the greek language is used to call someone a savage (English word: kaffir). It was also used to intimidate black people, much like the word 'niger'. That's a coincidense, I presume :-)

- So yesterday I was watching 'ABBA - The Movie' (1977). Corny scenario, but it had awesome live performances from ABBA in Australia, as well as interviews and backstage footage.
So ABBA is being interviewed by Australian reporters and Bjorn is talking about how it is to be on tour. And he actually finishes his description by saying "You just eat, sleep, go on stage and nothing more". I almost fell off my chair :-) - isokadded on the 2003-12-06 20:53:34
- musicdisk Windows Deadly Beats by CoolPHat [web]
- gargaj: this , this and this have no problems at all. They run at full speed and use very little cpu. Of course you can argue that they don't scroll stuff in the screen with GDI, but those were the most close matches I could think of.

- gargaj: I didn't mean any disrespect towards your production in my comment. I mearly pointed out this peculiarity so that you can fix it if you wish, or at least try to avoid it in your next productions.
Here is a run-down of my system:
Pentium 4 2400 (Northwood, 512kb cache)
256Mb PC133 SDRAM
ASUS P4B i845 (SDRAM, sucks I know) chipset
Nvidia TNT2 Ultra 32Mb AGP 2X
Avance AC97 (on board) sound chipset
Windows 2000 Workstation SP4 + all recent fixes
Nvidia 52.16 drivers, DirectX9
This system runs fast as long as you don't flood it's cache. After that, it has to fetch stuff from PC133 SDRAM and it's time to make some coffee. I didn't buy the friggin rig, it's just what I have at the office. Surprisingly, though, I am able to run lots of demos at respectable framerates, even if it only has a TNT2. That includes Project Genesis, Candytron (not all parts), FR's musicdisk etc. But this musicdisk choking all the system is totally weird, and that's why I am posting it here, in case you want to help other poor P4 owners. That's all. - isokadded on the 2003-11-26 16:32:37

- errr, this musicdisk monopolizes my system and eats all my cpu. To the point where the mouse pointer gets 4-5 samples a _second_ and moves jerkily!
I mean, I know a P4/2400 Northwood with PC133 SDRAM (i845) sucks ass, but I would expect a little slack... After all I expected to listen to the zik while working (thanx for the minimize button!) but it's very hard this way...
Nice to see it's so small in size, the music seems quite nice (although not spectacular). - isokadded on the 2003-11-25 23:39:05

- I thumb this down simply because vb fucked me once more today and I don't know where to find the creators of basic and shoot them in the head with as many bullets as possible.

- To this day, I still can't make out why this was so much fun to watch :-) Maybe it's the music...
