• Great stuff. I remember watching some other 8bit 'state of the art-alike' some time back, but it was nowhere near as good looking as this. Maybe it was on a slower platform though.

• Damn, that was great! Only thing I didn't like was the 'bird sounds' at the end.. I thought it either needed something visual to match (like a 'return to something natural' at the end), or that sound cutting. But otherwise, stunning!

• proteque: thanks, I'll try to test it. Actually I arsed up the .mov container a bit, I'll try and fix it later and re-upload. Downloading the file and running it in quicktime might help.. at home it worked fine in safari, but here at work I get a black screen but it plays in quicktime.
  
  Hoild: the shaders are actually pretty fast, but I have a ton of layers doing different stuff so fillrate could be an issue. A g4 won't be helping though, particularly for the cubes/torus scene.
  
  Also, it's horribly unoptimised (actually getting it finished before the deadline was more of a priority ;) Most of the time, there's effects running which aren't even visible. Perhaps I'll tidy it up and get it running faster when I do a proper .app version, but it'll be at least a week before I have time.
