• I sometimes feel I need proof of my insanity. I tried running in latest Chrome right after that on the same computer and I BSODed.
  
  I will have to be content to stare longingly at it until I can try it on my Macbook Pro.

• Trying to run this on an install of Windows Firefox 22 caused the nVidia driver to die (it auto-restarted) and Firefox to crash. I'll have to try another computer later.
  
  However, the size and the screenshot alone are worth the thumb.

• They could use WebGL, yes, but the sources linked seem to indicate it's all sorts of 3D effects rendered to a 2D Canvas. Considering we're all about doing odd things in even more odd ways (or on esoteric platforms), that's quite fine. In fact, being a web programmer myself I found that to be pretty impressive! Most probably would have just gone with WebGL.

  I've also put up an unpacked version of the demo on the group's website for those interested. Much nicer than printing out the packed code in the party version.
