- musicdisk ZX Spectrum Cecconoise
- Wow, h0ffman exploring the beeper! Very controlled sound and always lovely to hear beeper that doesn't feel like it came from the 1980s. I honestly hope that the experience didn't leave you scarred, so that we can hope to hear more from you in the future.

- demo ZX Spectrum unspoken by Stardust
- Quote:
Tight stuff. Was the girl-art converted from the original? Or pixeled by hand? Because then it would be sad to display them only for a split-second.
Definitely pixelled, see https://zxart.ee/rus/avtory/d/diver/girl-1-from-unspoken/, https://zxart.ee/rus/avtory/d/diver/girl-2-from-unspoken/, https://zxart.ee/rus/avtory/d/diver/girl-3-from-unspoken/, and https://zxart.ee/rus/avtory/d/diver/girl-4-from-unspoken/.
Is it really sad that they are not shown for longer? To me, the brevity of this scene is almost the whole point of it, always leaving you wanting for more. - isokadded on the 2024-05-10 22:07:50
- demo ZX Spectrum Elysium State by Stardust
- A new release from the masters of glitch and sync is kinda lopsided and short. It starts beautifully, but then the tempo gets somewhat uneven, even static for the girl in Eden. However, after this the demo suddenly picks up and delivers possibly the best minute of demo experience on ZX Spectrum in years, so the resulting aftertaste is definitely positive. I kinda like it more than Gabba, even though Gabba was a lot more systematic and ambitious.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Batman Rises by Batman Group
- This demo is cheesy and over the top, borderline tasteless even. It is also a bombastic and truly ambitious show, which goes so far beyond the usual set of expectations that ends up in a cold and somewhat lonely space. A usual fare from the Batman group then. This is a demo that would define a platform expectations for years to come. While I am not fully convinced by the direction, the code is impressive, the pixel art and the music are breathtaking, and the ambition on display is absolutely inspiring.

- demo ZX Spectrum Grongy time by Eye-Q
- This demo is lighthearted, fun and genuinely unpretentious. The core of it is the pixel art by grongy, who has been making a huge amount of amazing speccy pixel art during the last couple years or so.
It does not try to dazzle you with coding achievements, or push some big idea, it is just what it is: a lot of fun with cool graphics ideas and some neat code to work within the same context. It does not feel entirely cohesive, in that it seems to mostly kick around different ideas, without ever getting married to any of them. Fundamentally, it does not seem to matter much, because the ideas are cool, the looks are unusual (grongy does have a distinct visual style), and the tempo is fast enough for the show to never get boring.
It may well be the best demo by Eye-Q. Feels the longest too. - rulezadded on the 2022-11-27 20:21:42
- demo MS-Dos Area 5150 by CRTC & Hornet [web]
- Amazing work, and it is great to know that you do not necessarily need using the composite output to produce colorful visuals on IBM PC with a CGA adapter. I am really looking forward for your write-ups.

- demo ZX Spectrum Undefiller by Outsiders
- Short, to the point, with several tasty effects and a bombastic soundtrack.
And it even has an aftertaste. Thank you, I missed it. - rulezadded on the 2022-08-22 12:07:34
- 4k ZX Spectrum Quattuor by Darklite [web] & Offence [web]
- Sorry I did not comment earlier. This is what a modern oldschool demo looks like. I am not saying intro, because this 4K does not feel constrained at all. The quality of every effect is just as good as an effect in a full-sized demo (in fact, they are better than most). Good to see the good old chunky with some new colour mixtures, but most of all, good to see the music with a sort of uneven tempo, kinda starting and stopping, and the demo responding appropriately, every time.

- It is not very impressive, but at least I can see your point.

- demo ZX Spectrum Cubelon by Darklite [web] & Offence [web]
- This is confident and solid. I particularly appreciate the tight scripting and the consistent style. I think the peak of the demo does not quite work, but I am not sure if it is because the music does not quite carry it, or because the visuals are not exciting enough. It is often hard to say. Nevertheless, I really appreciate what you do here and am eagerly waiting for more, because this is proper.
