- Super solid, great atmosphere. If nitpicking, I'm not totally sold on the soundscape, and it would have been great with some sort of image quality degradation on the simple/clean raymarching

The first 3.5M threads are the particles. On scene change particles are randomly spawned in a box, then snapped onto a sdf (in a small loop with dispersion in between for better distribution), then textured and shaded from the sdf.
The rest of the time they are being simulated with some simple affecters (one of them is suction to the sdf to keep things on the surface if desired), but no kind of n-body (so it's a bit hard to keep a good density).
Apart from updating the particle buffer itself, their indices are written to the right buckets for z-ordered rendering.
The large remainder of the geo threads are then rendering the whole bucket space. - isokadded on the 2025-04-21 23:28:00

- yes, if 100 are considered extreme. It's a geometry shader fired in a 3d grid, snapping to and walking a sdf, rendering flat but shaded ribbons. Supersampled and with ssao.

- I'm usually not a fan of these realistic rendered fractals - but this has kinda enough "structure" to it (the face, the crab..) to be interesting. Also what blackle said.
