I've read many of these dramatic messages. Rolled on the floor laughing (also scaring the cat) every time, so please keep them coming.
I think everyone has had an impulse to be dramatic about this (I left the scene from 1997-2004 myself). Of course, little did I know: You never leave the scene! (unless the scene leaves you)

The demoscene is not a club, that requires a membership... its a term to describe people who likes exploring the capabilities of computers - both techinally and artistic - and appreciating the friendships that comes along.
Nobody has to submit a formular to get their membership cancelled.
Demoscene is a term, just like if some people likes western-movies, then they are described as "western-fans" as long as they do that. If someone there suddenly begins to like sci-fi-movies instead, then his interest can descibed as "sci-fi-fans" and thats also just a term. Nobody is member of anything because of a term.

In fact if someone wants attention one should do releases (best of all awesome one or totally gross ones), if there's no releases due to absence or inactivity or any other reason, noone cares. Tis is the demoscene, we are here to do and watch demos, we are not the gayfreindshiphuggingscene.
