Concerning that entrance fee thingie : Ok, ATI doesnt provide you any more support/sponsor, because they got bought by AMD. But wouldn't it be easier to throw intel away and take AMD/ATI instead? I'm pretty sure AMD doesnt want to sponsor you because of the intel thingie, or maybe am i wrong?

irokos, sponsors are not the kind of thing you can afford to simply "throw away" or "take" as a party organiser... quite the contrary in fact... what you are suggesting is that BP should becoime completely dependent on a single company. so what do you think will happen when that single company decides to stop their sponsorship? right- BP will be dead, or the ticket prices will get even higher.

so if i was you, i'd be damn happy that intel is such a reliable supporter of the demoscene and continues sponsoring BP, instead suggesting to stick a dagger in their back. i know i am, at least ;)

Well i didnt want to say that they should throw everything away, i just wanted to know what was the better sponsor to be kept, between intel and amd. The thing is that if Ati departure increases the entrance fee price of 15 bucks, and if you count that there are around 1000 sceners at Breakpoint, that'd be something like 15000 bucks that were donated by ATI. I'm sure Intel can do better, and increase a bit their donation, which would allow the entrance fee to decrease a bit. Because, hey, excuse me, but as a student, 60 bucks is a _fucking_ pain in the ass for me to give away.

it's not that we had to decide between the two. when amd and ati merged, they also merged offices, and our primary contact at ATI couldn't stand his new boss so he left. new management wasn't interested. tada, one sponsor down.

anyway what would ATI have promoted as they don't have any anti-8800 counter-offer to propose yet ;>

irokos: However it would an even bigger pain in the ass sitting home during easter (=no Breakpoint)

Since you're a student, I'm pretty sure you know where to get the cheapest food and beers, it shouldn't take you long to save around 15 bucks on food, beer and booze (I have been a student myself... )

So it's around that time we start wondering what the weather forecast for easter @ Bingen Am Rhein is.

Since we're too lazy to search for previous years urls for various weather serivces and the likes, but still remember scamp telling us to stay the hell away from Frankfurt Am Main forecasts, we'll be eagerly awaiting someone with the proper knowledge to give up some info on the weather.

Greetings in advance. (Fuckings to forecasts of bad weather)

i have nothing to do that. if i crash skrebbels student meetings, that doesn't mean i will drive with him :)

anyway, i DO need a ride, but for today... which is a bit early anyway for everyone. so, i will either pay the fucking expensive dutch/german train or i will hitchhike.

so, if you never see me again, this will be my last post on pouet. it will be written on my grave:

"hereth rest jeenio, passionate about music, dance, demoparties and love. died while going to breakpoint, raped by truck drivers and thrown onto the train tracks. too bad ICE was coming quite fast"

jeenio: sorry about the error in translation.. i cannot be held responsible for the sexual preferences or moral standards of european truck drivers.

but ehmm.. how come you are going today? and where to exactly?

No way, i'm not the kind of guy begging to other to pay for me. Why would me as student be able to have that discount thingie while others would pay 60 bucks to "complete" what i didnt pay. I just won't be present this year.
