New paniq Album: Lost Known Good Configuration

category: general [glöplog]

I released a new album called "Lost Known Good Configuration" containing 14 tracks from the past year, some of which were featured in compos and new ones. The album is available on my homepage in Ogg Vorbis, Mp3 and FLAC format. Enjoy.

hm. done.

Sounds clearly like a logical continuation of Neurons, with some of its motifs and themes popping up here and there - the album bears the signs of a classic Paniq album with a catchy yet sophisticated title song, a technically advanced followup and generally a very uptempo first third of the album, succeded by a mix of quirky experiments (Der Weise, Santa...) and bass-heavy anthemic grooves (Links). The album ends uptempo again with a sort of reintroduction of its beginning themes, in a quasi-Octavarium-esque way.

Overall a subtle but effective progression after N:FAW.

Well I like it... Barcode Anxiety was a bit noisy for my taste, but the next track makes up for it fully.

paniq: reading too many album reviews is bad for one's health :D

Well, it's no secret that paniq is one of the most prolific free music producers out there. The quantity and quality of his output is indeed quite impressive (and extra karma bonus for making it with atrocious software).

The album is neat and his most homogeneous so far, I think. No real killer track this time (barcode anxiety being quite close; always triggers a dieties/mfx-like video clip in my head), but no foul apples either. Though I still think he should have re-recorded "Der Weise" to fix the sloppy rhyme/beat sync (the vocal tracks are pretty much hit and miss anyway imho).

So, thanks for all the inspiring tunes and keep them coming. :)
