the list of things you always forget to do when zipping your prod

category: general [glöplog]
there's usually an option to turn that off - in the worst case you can stop using ultraedit :D
I'd also go for "deleting all the thumbs.db-s from the data/images dir"

True, I've seen so many damn thumbs.db in recent prods =) There are also quite a few on opendirs I vist =)

forget one file.. the ones you add when partycoding..

I'd like to add something funny here, but concerning releases I'm totally paranoid re-checking everything several times (including tests on any other machine that my own when finishing it at the party)
@shadez: you could let do that automatically....

I usually end up doing some last minute fixes and then recompile, pack, release... then test. Of coz the version I release is BROKEN.

What about actually using your building system to create a packed release? :)

forget fmod.dll
or forget the CORRECT version of fmod.dll :)
Shadez - For 64k, if you can't get a copy of kkrunchy, MEW11 is likely to compress better than UPX.

styx_hcr: yeah true, but it increases the whole exe-compiling process, which is not good for inpatient person like me :)

deathy, what's MEW11? i always used just upx so i've no idea about other packers (and kkruncher is farb-rausch's packer) . anyway, i'm not making 64k intros anymore.

oh and 64k packers seem not to be the subject here :)
