been thinking of doing a prod for short film after a long while but 5 minutes too tight limit for fucks sake :D
It is usually a good idea to remember that it is a _short_ film compo.

Then release a 5-minutes-trailer for your 1h-prod. ;o)
the agony of an artist
Run at 12x speed, problem solved!
The One Scene demo sounds intriguing in the middle of the childcare years. Then again the party graphic design looks quite obviously like AI and the rules for AI use in compos are pretty lax, so I don't know if it's worth the trouble to try to get creative for it.
AI is not allowed in any other compo than AI wild
Submit your entries at https://scene.assembly.org
An AI project compo may be funny. Not as in AI generated stuff, but a project that utilizes AI for anything. Could be something useful, something crazy, doesn't matter.
Will you be attending, Tomcat?
I've heard that demo compo wise, it can be a blast this year!
Guys, who’s going to Assembly? We need someone to represent us at the party. Nothing special, just in case they give out Fanta as a prize, you can drink it for us :)
The following competitions are NOW open for you to remotely submit your entry:
Realtime: 1k Intro, 4k intro, Beginner Demo, Fantasy console, Oldskool Demo, Demo
Music: Tracked music
Wild: Short film, Real Wild
Check out also https://scene.assembly.org for entry submission and voting (with entry ticket).

Should I be able to submit remote entries to oldskool demo compo without votekey?

Where do you see this? All I see it's actually totally allowed in any compo per rule:

No purely AI-generated content is allowed unless it is specifically allowed by individual competition rules. While we do recognize that AI-generated content can provide assistance or inspiration, the majority of the submitted entry must consist of own/group work.
This year all 13 seminars or workshops held in Assembly are about games (or possibly one of them isn't).
Hi,
I saw in the program there was projection of the documentary "Hands deep – matka demoskeneen" (a journey into the demoscene), with english subtitles, at Assembly 2025.
Is it available somewhere online?

Dipe, Mayor and everyone else involved to this years Assembly demo organizings: great job!! You have made it possible to have Assembly where demos and demoscene play bigger part than for a long time. The direction is absolutely correct <3 - keep it up. And I am willing to help within the limits of possibilities given 8).
And specifically when participating to the compos, I sincerely dont remember it going so smoothly, but flexibly for a long time.. perhaps the compo base at child care take area added to the feeling of being taken care of :).
Pure demo scene love & being taken care of spirit in the air at Assembly and in how the event is being organized, plus definitely built with amazing visitors!!

How is this claim justified? I felt things were rather going to the opposite direction since this year there was only one seminar/workshop/speech about demos while IGLA took over the rest. I'm not sure how the share of gaming program developed otherwise.
I agree that things went smoothly. Some not-so-big problems were that fantasy console and tracked music were announced as one compo block while that actually wasn't the case. And fast gfx & photo entries were shown twice which is annoying.

Websearches and forthcoming screening at the Skrolli Party suggests that the answer is no. This may change in few months.
I agree that there should have been more demo workshops and seminars on the demo topics. But that is actually not fault of the orgs. I was personally asked to come arrange both of those things, but this time it was not possible to stretch out for helping to make a demo making workshop or seminars around it. I am sure plenty of others were kindly asked for the same things, but everyone has their lifes amd priorities to balance with..
So a good conclusion for this: all of us who have the time & energy, lets stay proactive and give our support through making those seminars & events about demomakings, related things and so on to happen next time!
