Oh great, let's open *another* thread about this, we don't have enough threads on this site yet and in a few years nobody will understand the context anymore.

To those who aren't aware of: Hugi is back again with another exquisitely extreme quality edition. The last one was particularly great due to the participation of sceners and a huge improvment in design and quality assurance given by all who have contributed and Adok supervision. I've helped him too with some advice and moral support and to not spoilt the final result, I've asked Adok to not publish my articles.

I've put them to the bin because they were crap and yes I admit my previous ones in Hugi 30 and 29 were not exactly the best in town. But for this issue I've constrain myself to the maximum and you'll read even less than this post as my unique article. It will features lots of interesting things to watch and will bring your happiness for a long long time, this is 100% guaranteed.

Hugi is great and we get huge positive feedback from lots of sceners. We need only a few utterly good articles about code to finish this edition and that's why we are ready to talk with you. Various interviews are going on and you'll read very interesting bits in this issue.

So now coders, the ball is in your camp, please reach the goal and score a good point to please every readers.

Thank you reading.

The only thing that makes all this hugi spam crap a bit bearable is knowing that the spambots will have no mercy with magic now that his addy is all over this site...

For thos not aware, I've presented my sincere apologise in the mea culpa thread months ago. And I give again my whole apologises to holly sceners who have produced for our pleasure, free, astonishing, impressive demos. My article wasn't done to hurt their sensiblity and I admit my mistake: I've been brutal in my words, because I'm bad educated. However I love when people listen and yes I love provocation: that's bring some audience. And yes this is a journalist trick and yes thats low, low, low, but hey it works so we use and I abuse of it. Yes I'm an asshole, but hey I use the way to get audience. Ok I steal your audience, but what do you want: everybody has to survive.

Nowadays we require some good articles about coding for sceners pleasure and bring again even more people into coding. Of course you can say "I don't care, I'm leet, and it took me years, you'll not reach the same level, reading and applying tutorials". We are aware of that, we don't look for tutorials but insteed stories: how did you achieve your goals, what is your organisation, how did you learn coding, how do you solve particular issues, ... And we want to heard coders telling us that because this will be real and will look more like a reporting.

Thank you understanding.

Dunno, why. Mabbe ep can explain?

Do you really expect that coders like navis, for example do "howto make fake effect that looks good but idiots vote us" ?

It will never dawn on ep and adok that nobody gives a flying fuck about hugi.... so I'm not going to repeat that..

The frenglish translator will be not necessary: I'm not the writer of articles. Only one is written by me and is short, no worry about language issues so.

Okkie, Zest, uns3en_, moredhel: yes we would like to get some info about the art of illusion demos are: we love to understand how it's done, the ineer theatre behind the effect, the spirit, the code, the tricks, and this magic which is clever, smart, astute, brainy programmation.

And we know that you know a lot and that sharing it with others will bring even more better demos: this will benefit everybody.

Note that I don't say nowadays demos are rubbish or crap but that future with added knowledge will be better. This is just a matter of fact: more you meet intelligent people and you get interesting and usable information and better you perform, this works in all situation of life. This is why some people don't stop training in their job for life.

For Hugi, let said that we have planned to release a web edition but I'm sure Adok will be even more concerned if all pouet sceners and others say this clearly in this thread. So go for it: vote for a web edition ONLY. We will not duplicate edition because this is too much work and we now consider this is not good enough because some people still don't have internet. If you prove us that Hugi readers all have internet access and don't get Hugi by another way then we will provide you with what you want. Just vote and do us a favor: prove it by a massive vote: 300 people voting for Hugi as a web edition is the minimum votes number before we switch to web only. And if you want a diskmag edition like now, then vote and if you're more than 70 we will not switch or do something so you can read us offline.

Please also understand before voting that when you're in a train, a plane or in move, you can't have internet access and then could appreciate a net independent edition. That's why we have continued the diskmag as it is.

ah, yes, the old diskmag vs. web mag discussion again, which is so easily beaten by one simple argument: web mags don't last.

For example, if imphobia had been a web mag then we probably couldn't enjoy it anymore today...
added on the 2006-07-02 19:06:55 by sparcus sparcus
Absolutely right, Sparcus! That's why I'm still releasing Hugi as a diskmag even though the web was already available in the days when Hugi started being released in English.

BTW, with Imphobia there's another problem - they won't run under modern PCs, at least not easily. See my article on that problem in Hugi 28. A solution would be storing texts uncompressed or having additional text/html-only editions.

Stingray: Adok is doctor, so ask him to push the syringe as you really need some medicine.
added on the 2006-07-03 21:06:07 by ep ep
However, I can only push the syringe if you show symptoms that allow me to diagnose a disease for which an injection of a therapeutic drug is indicated.
