vamous vamous portual
Portugal should've been disqualified along with the dutch during that joke of a match they played last week. Either party were playing faggot tea parties to please either the scene.org awards or the dreamcast develeopment team of Sonic Adventures. That was not football.
It had nothing to do with playing ball and was a travesty. Portugal didn't deserve to play from the first second.
Kudos for making Rooney cry though.

what shifter said..
Read the rules. Theres nothing wrong with what both teams did. If the referee had eyes he would have shown a red card at the 2nd minute to the bad guys.
If you want to complain complain about Italian motherfuckers that fake penaltiis.

you, sir, are a retard.
Portugal has one of the best team coaches ever.

xernobyl: oh come on, are you actually saying that everything's allowed as long as the referee doesn't see it? Let's also just start killing people, apparantly that's allowed too as long as the police doesn't see you :-)
Personally I think the UEFA should hand out fines or even harder punishments after the match based on what was catched on video. Even if the referee didn't see you that doesn't mean you should be able to get away with it...

I did. It said stuff about playing a game where people attempt to kick a ball into a goal. That match had nothing to do with that.
What sparcus said is a good idea. If a guy gets caught on tape for faking a fall that lands him a goal kick, I'd say he'd have to get one of those red pokemon cards they're so keen on collection on the fields. There's too much faked drama on the fields, too little actual football.
As for the topic... Portugal was in one of the easiest groups of this Worldcup and was lucky to meet relatively weak opponents such as Holland and England on their way to the final four. It's clearly the weakest of the 4 remaining teams- of which Germany has obviously shown the most potential, so if any team deserves to win this year, it'd be the Krauts, no doubt about that.
holland weak? whohaha
Holland was unlucky but not weak ;-)

well Magic...obviously you aren't capable to spot sarcasm even if it is drawn up front to ya face....
The french and portugese teams had apparently the toughest route to the semi finals, yet.
About fines for taped foulplay missed by the referee...
I still have the opinion that a match has its own law area
represented by the 4 referees and the football ruleset they
have to obey. Ofcourse (unlike in italian- and recently german prime leagues) the referees _must_ be utterly unbiased...which in deed is a very hard job.
But that's what makes football so interesting and emotional...referees do not always see everything.

ah again about behavior on the field, Shifter:
but in the end...it's only football with its own laws

If you want to see a sport with discipline watch rugby. Not football.
I've only seen once a red card on a rugby match.
