Calimero: eh, how did you guessed that? :) TAT/AVENA is now doing playstation games for example... :)
pure luck :)
TAT work for what company? I know that mr.pink also work for game company and friend of mine (from serbia, now in UK) met one of TLB legend at work (I forgot company name and who was from TLB... but it was good story anyway :) I could ask him again for details)

Havoc: A tunnel (of course) when right-clicking the info-button. Doh, harder question please :)
Speaking hicolour pixel painters on the Falcon, Escape Paint wins hands down. Very similar to Crackart/Degas or Neochrome (it has two work-modes as Atarians can never agree which is the better; Degas or Neo).
Apex is brilliant for coders, very nice file formats and in 8bit mode it's perfect to adapt pictures to changed palettes, eventually Apex can be used to paint with as well, it's not too bad at that either.

Although I have always been an Atari addict, I found the Falcon disappointing when it got released, especially compared to a mere Amiga 500 considering the capabilities and price of the latter.
It could have been a killer if released earlier, cheaper and with better custom chips. It's probably why a lot of Atari ST sceners switched to PC or amiga back then, instead of giving Falcon a try (imo)
It's still a nice machine with some nice demos though.

Calimero, the list is endless of Atari-demoers in the games industry..
Griff / EI - Electronic Arts
Mr Pink / RG - Electronic Arts
Keops / Equinox - (ex?) Electronic Arts
Creature / Aggression - XIHA Games
Wiztom / Aggression - Remedy I think? Might have changed..
Xenit / Aggression - Remedy ? Not too sure, some finnish company anyway.
MSG/RG - Guerilla
Scavenger/Synergy - Guerilla (fantastic soundtrack in Killzone!)
Deez/Evolution - Avalanche (ex. Team 17)
Tat/Avena - Sony Europe (might have changed?)
OB/Anatomica - Avalanche
Teque/Aggression - Remedy or other finnish studio
Those are the ones popping up right now, there are lots lots more for sure..

There is a different effect off the Apex info button as well. Depends what version you have. On v.2.41 (Apex Intro) there is some kind of chasing water ripple effect instead :-)
Can I have a beer as well? ;-)
CiH: Please start an "did you know... article" for alive about that :) I think those infos shouldn't be lost :D
Or just use this one: the big demoscene trivia thread
MM: well... but what if pouet has a hd-crash without backups?
Are there backups done at all? I hope so :)

I was waiting for CiH to come with that answer ;)
keops: c'mon, an a500? compared to a falcon? you got to be joking, i think you mean a1200. the a1200 did have the right price, i agree.
evil: wiztom is now working as a subcontractor for guerilla as optimiser for killzone liberation.
zweckform is also working in the games biz..
and yeah this is turning into a trivia thread, no doubt.. =))

did someone hear about my former hydroxid crew mates ? ( Artoax; hawkmoon; chromex; skidz; saya ).
Btw : there is a hydroxid production that is missing on pouet : the skidz music disc, : it s a very good one with nice graphics.

nytrik... wooooooooooooooooot??? There is a musicdisk from SKIDZ??? Never got my hands on this... if you have
a copy please send it to me... e-mail or snail if you cant image it ;)
Unfortunatly I haven't heard of other HDX members yet and I have no idea how to find them as I was looking for SKIDZ too because of my fading twilight project.

I ll try to grab it on a floppy at my parents house ( if everything was not thrown away )

Ed Salisbury sounds like UK.

earx: you did not read what I wrote properly, I meant compared to their respective price. At that time an A500 cost nothing compared to a Falcon and yet had kickass capabilities and custom chips that the falcon did not have :)
humm humm.. OK, admitted, the DSP doesn't quite fit the "custom" label... but i'm not aware of anything that an A500 can do which a falcon can't... anyway... it is a rather m00t discussion... coz keops, be honest, if the A500 was truely so much a better choice then a falcon, why the fuck did we all buy pc's?! ;)
because he's french.

Havoc: again I did NOT say that an A500 was more powerful than a Falcon regardless of everything else (I trust you can't even remotely compare to MadenMann and his usual stupidity and lack of clues)
I said that *regarding the price of each machine*, Commodore had the lead without any doubt (and I don't even mention the A1200)
It's interesting to see how many Amiga demogroups switched from A500 to A1200, whereas so few Atari people switched from Atari ST to Falcon (which happened more or less at the same time)
ok ok ok...
g0t a question, what can I do with the DSP port on falcon's back ?
(dont have the original falcon manual)
anything useful to plug on it already ?
