I think Ideal demo platform means: standard hardware it meand one GPU for all sceners :).Not like on PC Nvidia,Ati,Matrox...And that is the goal of XGPmini and XGP gamepark handheld systems.XGP has TV out and SD-CARD reader.32bit risc cpu ARM 920T/266Mhz.Linux/WinCE.64MB RAM.OPEN GL-ES.420x272 LCD.64 channel 16bit 44,1khz stereo audio.IT IS BETTER PLATFORM AS WATCH LATEST SLIDE-DEMOS ON 2,5GHZ AMD/512MB/128 G-FORCE... So come back to write demos to be ideal for platform like on c64,amiga 500,atari ST...

You aren't going to save the scene, right?

Ok I was too blunt.

So it's not that we don't know about it. We've discussed it, folks have made things for the previous incarnation, folks have the new incarnations and are probably doing things on them.

Preacher has a valid concern though: We get a few too many folks coming in who want 'us' (meaning sceners: an amorphous blob of people who have EXTREMELY differing views on what everything surrounding what they do in the scene - from why they create to what they create to how to best deal with writing run on sentences about the scene.)

Preacher has a valid concern though: We get a few too many folks coming in who want 'us' to 'return' to our 'roots' - which, translated, is just another "You aren't doing what I want! WAAAAH!"

The CORRECT answer is - YES! Absolutely! PLEASE GET ONE AND MAKE A DEMO WITH IT! _I WANT TO SEE YOUR DEMO._

However, I do not really want you to tell me what I should do with my attempts to create something.

When I do want that feedback, I'll probably ask a few people I know or value their opinion, or maybe I'll just go for broke and try to get it on the bigscreen for raw input from a wide selection of folks. (Yes I know several of you would like me to hurry that process up since I SUCK at finishing demos.)

Anyway. Yes, please - make a demo, make a kickass demo, one that is fun for you to make and you hope we'll enjoy. Do it on whatever platform you wish. GP32? GPX? GPX mini edition super deformed? Go for it.

But yeah, we know (: Thanks for telling us. Did you go to BP? You shooda gone to BP. BP ruled. Go next year and bring your GP demo, we'll love it.

Well, ok, some won't but if you haven't learned that not everyone likes everything you do, you're gonna have EEEEE SHOES anyway.

Hopefully you got the point, it is hidden in between the horrific grammar and my tendency to continue to talk long after the point was abundantly clear to the people in the next county.
oh and if this is who I think it might be, I'm serious, do it. And bring Got with you next year when you come to BP.
Ok so it's not. Darn. (: Well, grab tomcat.si and get his ass to BP as well, I'm gonna end up driving there and dragging him eventually.
andrew wtf are you on?:-)

I'm curious about XGP mini more than the other one. It would rock a lot with TV out.

gp2x was a fiasco imho.

Is this one going to be "open-source", so you can easily code for it? With a public SDK and all that? (like GP32). Somehow I got the impression that they are trying to compete with the PSP, am I getting a wrong impression?

i dont know why bother with a system that is not even out.

If you wanna get your hards dirty get a gp2x. Or you are too scared of the lack of 3d hardware.
