you don't need to be experienced to understand that documenting history is a different goal than building a moderated database. my aim is the first, it's upto pouet.net admins and gloperators to decide how much freedom i'm allowed in doing so, and so far i see no reason to complain.
but the point was, i want to document history. instead of scenestuff, i could also opt to write a book about the history of my country (holland). but if i would skip the nasty bits like warcrimes, slavetrading, piracy, etc etc, it'd quickly degrade into a novel instead of a proper history book.
so i'm not here to fuck things up, just trying to describe how others have tried that... :P

lotekstyle: well i was thumbing it down because about year ago one guy (radman/acid) made post to slashdot.org about werkzeug and linked that demo to slashdot. popularity is raised by spreading url, so i think it popularity is raised by slashdot effect. its kinda ddos attack/hammering thing, because slashdot effect can bring even server down... about heaven 7 thumbing down, dunno. its good intro, but i felt iam bored to it, and that raytracer isnt rally anything special (216/mfx did it in 1995) and i hate that message in that intro 7, anti abortion as far as i see it...
and popular demo is good demo, but i hate to see same dem hanging there forever. and sorry about provocation :(

Somehow I see now, however, that the lack of swappers is really a pain sometimes, and what people were complaining about in this thread. Like - swappers were always critics / moderators, and bad productions just got forgotten. Not only speaking about crappy pr0n slideshows, but utter failures, like this here.

Now now, SCN 1.0 "ELF" is way more entertaining than at least 85% of demos out there.
