Best music visualisation ever?

category: general [glöplog]
GbND : Yes. But I normally ask amusic to tell me the BMP, then shift the whole demo by x msecs to be in tune.

I normally write a 'scene' first, then alter the following :

Time+=DeltaT*A;

A is normaly 1.0f, but by altering to , lets say, 1.05f I can make the whole thing fit with the music, that arrives later. It works a charm.

It's not visualisation, but my thing is that synchronization comes from neither the video nor the audio. The code is the sequence, where the story is built. Audio and video enslaved to it :)

The best music visualization ever probably does not use a complex fft algorithm.

for my GLrez intro i used the nice minifmod's "get pattern/line position" command...
of course you can use that only if you have a tracked music...

rez: syncing to tracked music rocks, but the lack of proper mastering does not ;)

or you can merge the two methods like JCO did :)

mmm, in souldrop i used a verylowpassfilter per each channel of the tune.. and in 64ks i use a mix of a similar perchannel amplitude finder, and dragging timeline bars + keyframes around in introtool.

syncing with timelines in demotools, and to softsynth music, rules. =)
