Shifter: Please don't talk that much about drinkin vodka if you can't consume larger amounts by yourself. Kthx.
that was a silly joke MadenMann ;)
I drink to forget your bristly face.
dODgE: Ah, now I get it. See some ppl laughing. ;)
Shifter: I can live with that, but I fear it wasn't the last time someone comes to me with "OMG please help, shifter is dying, LOL."

<russian_mode>you don't mix vodka, you drink it pure and then eat some salted cucumbers or mushrooms, everything else is blasphemy</russian_mode>
People who are too drunk to properly check for a pulse shouldn't.
I 2nd What Slummy said ;)
But if one mainly stick to drinking beers, the hangover wont be all that bad. Just acouple of BECKs for Breakfast, and you'll be right as rain.

What the hell is a hangover?
Dipswitch, I tried that with cucumbers, and it was delicious. I can't stand vodka otherwise.
shifter: vodka with peach ice tea seemed like a fun idea at mekka. it also tasted pretty good. better than vodka+apple juice atleast (god i hate apple juice). Vodka as-is is good too (in moderation) but if you want to drink it pure you'd better make sure its not the cheapo gas station shit (yeltzin or gorbachev or any of that crud)
naturally nothing beats a good cognaq or brandy, but those are stuff that you don't want to get drunk with.

Sounds good. Now go and make some interesting seminars. Also, as another improvement compared to last year, we will (probably) have an actual seperate seminar area building - so you won't have to turn down your volume in the main hall while seminars are running anymore :).

i'm special that way.
Isn't special just another way to say retarded? :D Well it seems i'm special too, at least about the water thing.

If I recon there's a supermarket in walking distance you might as well just stack up your mineral water from there.
And i reckon that you can buy beer, coke and bubbly water from that gas station too, so why bother selling anything at the party place? No but seriously, if organizers are selling beverages, then why not normal Evian or similar too?

but trust us, non bubbly water si teh shit and a vital element when you possess a big hangover, bubbles are pure evil on anything else other then beer, sparkling wine and coke. and bubbly water turned non bubbly, it just aint the same at all, it tastes diferent, the gases are always still there, its like wanting to drink tea but only having energy drinks..
A-fucking-men.

because at the infodesk a beer approximately will cost
EUR 1 + a buck pawn for the bottle that you get back
if you return the empty bottle.
at the nasty gas station you don't have those prices for beer f.e.
rainmaker: note that i said "supermarket", not "gas station".
(Long story about german deposit systems coming up)
rainmaker: I don't know how much different things are in other countries, but here in germany we have a nation-wide system for returnable bottles. Drink distributors only carry returnable bottles part of that system. Supermarkets and gas stations also can sell one-way bottles which use a completely different deposit system (the bottles are not send back to the distributor when returned, but get thrown away by the shop).
The nation-wide-returnable-bottles system has lots of advantages - you don't have any garbage, and most importantly: What we get from the distributor can be returned if we don't sell it - with full refund. So we don't really need wizard skills to exactly know how much of each drink we'll sell, we can simply return crates we didn't sell to our visitors. This is only possible with the returnable-bottles-system.
Those two systems aren't mixable. In Germany, all mineral water, all Beer, all Coca Cola products etc are part of the returnable-bottle system. Evian is not, they only sell one-way PET bottles to supermarkets directly, they are not part of the distributor chain.
And this means: We can't sell Evian, or anything else that's not part of the german returnable-bottle system. So, yes, I'll put non-bubbly water on our order list, but it won't be Evian, but some non-bubbly mineral water brand.

Ah yeah, and about "so why bother selling anything at the party place". Several reasons:
- This way it's cheaper for the visitors than buying at the gas station
- We make some money for our budget
- 95% of the bottles present at the party place can be returned by us to the distributor, instead of having to sort millions of different bottle kinds (or producing a gigantic mountain of garbage)

Shifter: I can live with that, but I fear it wasn't the last time someone comes to me with "OMG please help, shifter is dying, LOL."
seems like that became tradition at tum now.
scamp: we have a similar system in finland. most all bottles and cans containing a bewerage (lemonade, coke, beer, cider) have a deposit (all places sell those) and you can return them to any supermarket or shop that has a bottle/can return machine. Water, juices and such do not have this system though, and they end up as garbage.
There is one exception: Lidl only sells bottles that can only be returned to lidl. i think they got sued for that, but i guess their system still works and is separated from all the rest.
I can understand your desire not to have any extra garbage. it would be cool though if you guys would/could have really normal (non mineral, non bubbly) water in deposit bottles. If not, i will survive.
about beer: please try to have beer that is human digestable, unlike TUM*05 :-). I guess you can't get any kölsch stuff, but if you could, it'd kick major ass.

uncle-x: The owner of the tUM-location had an exclusive contract with that brewery so we weren't allowed to sell other kinds of beer. Even the locals don't like that beer. :/
IIRC there was some kind of Kölsch at the BP05 infodesk available.

I vividly remember Früh(?) Kölsch at last BP...
Hollandia Bier - it will surely attract "holland's finest" to your party! :P
havoc: okkie in a dress?
Do we have czech sceners willing to bring some crates of velko or krusovice? :)
all dutch ppl shall obviously wear this helmet to guarantee optimal dutch success during the compos!
I want one too! Oranje is jaarig!
