truck: what's wrong with having the price giving on time? :D
we were planning to hold it at that time anyway, the only difference was that when we were writing the diplomas nosfe suddenly came in to say bye.. then we "had to hurry" so i didnt write the diplomas for the people not present, it would have started about 5 min later in any case..
that said, the function04 case was annoying, announcing they'd have the pricegiving at 10 and holding it at 05 instead because stupid hungarians wanted to go home with the first train. :((

The party itself was cool as hell but cutting it short by 5 hours and not telling anyone was just plain lame. When you travel from out of the country to a party, finding out that the event you went to doesn't exist and you have to find something to do, when you don't know the country, don't know the language, and your friends are heading home and you don't have a place to stay - yeah, ya know, I count that as 'highly annoying.'
Luckily, I have extremely cool friends in Hungary who not only helped me out with not having a place to stay, but were able to help out when it was discovered that once again I am incapable of getting plane tickets for the correct time and my flight was in fact 24 hours AFTER I thought it was.
Also, 'prejudice' isn't the right term. 'caring' would work here if you were being sarcastic. 'sorry I put you out but I had my reasons' works.
And, I just hope in future that folks consider this if they're gonna cut the party short. Just let folks know that it's a possibility, and help them out with the repurcussions when they're from out of town/country/planet.
Finally, of COURSE I will go to Function again, it ruled. The sudden lack of a whole day of party, that was annoying, but certainly not enough to give anyone sane or insane any reason not to return.

Last year was what I guess to be a wrong decision by a tired orga-crew. Also when your party is 90% Hungarian, you are bound to be pressured by the collective decisions - in this case, scheduling due to travelling.
In any case if there will be a Function this year, it will be held at Budapest, and the prizegiving will (hopefully be able to) happen somewhere around noon so EVERYONE can get a decent sleep (either home or at the partyplace) and pack their stuff with no rush.
