Impossible games

I think, due to emulators and save states, it is possible to finish several extremely hard games today. I remember finishing several Nes/gameboy/mega drive games lately (while playing emulators on GP32 in the toilet :) but I should make a list with the CPC games and try them too. I am really curious what lies beneath some unbeatable screens..
Oh, I remembered something more. I am a skilled player of Kung Fu Master on the CPC. There is a boss at the last stage, who is another karateka, but I don't know how to beat him.
I mean,. I've beat him several times and finished the game but that's pure lack. When you go on him and hit constantly the kick/punch key, it's a matter of luck whether 1 of 100 hits succeeds and he looses a little bar of energy. And it's a matter of luck whether he doesn't drain half of your energy meanwhile. If you loose, just from the beginning and pray it works the next time. It's like the programmers have a very tiny possibility one of your hits to catch. Or is there a specific distance/way you have to hit him? Was there any logic behind how to beat that guy??? Or just brute force till it works?! Because that's how I finish that guy..

Spin: Wow! That's a great page! I am wondering if there is something similar for the CPC..
>why don't you code trainers for cpc (or any other system)? would be cool..
It would be cool indeed. Sometimes I want to try something diferrent than coding demos. And some interesting fields for me are cracking, reverse engineering or emulator coding. I just never get the time to try them out of my regular scene activities..

>Always getting killed at the last level of Knee-Deep In The Dead. Maybe Optimus knows a way?
If you mean,. after killing the Barons, and then you go to the goat pentagram and be teleported to a very dark small room with monsters where you die for sure. You are supposed to die there, it's in the scenario! :) The first episode ends and tells you that you 've gone to hell and so you have to continue through the second episode. I know, it puzzled me too in the beginning..
Another map where most people have problems with, is Map30 of Doom2. Where you have to go upstairs through the elevators and press the skull button. Then a pillar down the big stairs goes up, you press it it goes down, as long as your up and it goes up, you have to shoot just before it reaches the end, through a very tiny hole on the big goat wall, 2-3 rockets would make it. It's kinda tricky and monsters are getting annoyed. But you haven't played some extremely hard modern Z-doom maps to know what means to be a great doomer.. (I've only finished them with cheats ;P)
There were some records/videos in the Doom scene of people finishing doom1/2 in nightmare, or finishing in ultra violence and around 30 minutes!!! Wicked..

optimus heh your reply rox!
hey 11! thanks very jmuch
Crillion on c64. I think I never survived the first level longer than 0.3 nanoseconds. Crillion 2 was of reasonable difficulty though.
wtf?
Crillion 1 was easier than Crillion 2 by FAR. I could easily play thru the first dozen of levels on the first part but couldn't get thru the first 3 in the sequel...

I wonder which one of the classics was actually the easiest to finish.
Jungle hunt on c64 was too easy.

Gargaj: Confused the two. Nr.1 was indeed the easy one, Nr. 2 the impossible. There are also several unpublished/inofficial versions, it seems.
Talking about easy ones: Mortal Kombat 2 on GB is a good example.

impossible gaymes
Sometimes *not* making the joke is the best option, believe me.
Ghosts'n Goblins is one of the most difficult games I ever played.
The first level is ok then it becomes incredibly difficult. The last levels and the end boss took me days and a lot of patience (not to mention the isane amount of credits).
I guess nobody ever managed to finish it with one credit without using stuff like savestates, not even giZMo ;)
It's still one of the best games of its time though :)

Spin:
Great site! I read that the ZX version was impossible because of a bug in a cave. (original plateform, wtf!?)
The guy who makes the video (CPC) claimed that he never used cheatmode or snapshots (hard to believe :p)
Optimus:
I also likes to get some CPC longplays <3
I only played to the arcade version of Kung fu master. I should try the CPC now ;p I remember by just jumping and getting to side (quite similar tech with Barbarian / palace), I became invicible at Yi ar Kung Fu (CPC)
keops:
After school I get into a coffe shop in paris, a man was playing gng arcade everyday. It was amazing to see him playing. I remember those last levels with amazing skeletons and boss. Big sprites <3
Myself I couldn't get to the third world with one credit, but shure™ it's one of the best arcade game of it's time :)

keops: I remember the controls being really frustrating but the game looks nice.. the jumping was ass iirc.
R-TYPE 3.
on the SNES of course.
I remember playing rick dangerous (1st part) on the amiga with a friend for like 3 months straight, and only managed to get to the beginning of the last level!
then we gave up. It was all about memorizing traps/enemies - no skill required. Maybe that´s why...

final fights in Far Cry and Boiling Point (on PC), both in a volcano crater, both RPG orgy, both insane :>
Oh yeah -Rez without sound.

This man has pretty nifty superplays:

Most of them are one-lifes. I hear he's also playing metal slug as two players at once

I have to say impossible mission on pc.
That one-life ghouls'n'ghosts video was scary.
