acorn akf30 monitor on amigo 1200

category: general [glöplog]

anyone know if this will work and if so, what screenmodes will be visible?
Unknown... however the refresh modes are available, so theoretically if it did not work out of the box, you could get it to work... but I'd prolly try putting it on a riscos box first (:

and yes I saw the typo.
O meu amigo é um bom amigo. Ele está sempre pronto para qualquer coisa. O meu amigo é o melhor amigo do mundo. É por isso que ele é o meu melhor amigo. Amigo. Sem ti, eu não era quem sou.

truck : thanks for that link. think it's worth me gambling 25 of my english pounds on?

jeenio : yep, thanks for that
if it comes with a risc box? hell yeah. If it doesn't, well, it APPEARS it does something close to vga, so maybe you could use it with X with FreeBSD or something.
And how bad is the picture on it? Can they show that?
But push for the risc box, even if they have to make one out of curds and whey.
damn you people and your fancy monitors. back in the day, we were all happy with 14" TVs for our amigas, and the lowest form of currency was an egg....

you had eggs? I had to buy my commodore 1084s with five hundred thousand pieces of bellybutton fluff!

I'm older than you, and we weren't.
Heh. I just picked up a free Amstrad CPC monitor with Amiga converter cable for my A600 ;-)

Freecycle rules.

I just realised that I now have an Archimedes monitor on my A1200, and an Amstrad monitor on my A600. What next? An Atari monitor on my A1500? ;-)

truck : nope, no risc box. monitor only. i ordered the akf30 and appropriate cable today, so fingers crossed that it works...
from what xeron's saying, I'd guess this is a big yes.
Don't count on it. The Archimedes monitor i'm talking about is basically an Acorn badged 1084S equivalent. These only sold with the very first Archie models, before they switched to a more VGA like system.

My Archimedes 4000 monitor doesn't do PAL. Your mileage may vary.
