Someone help me estudiar el espanol, por favor
category: general [glöplog]
Well, i don't really want to mess up pouet bbs with non-scene related stuff, but in these times . . . :) So, i am studying spanish (yes, instead of demomaking, and that's a shame!), and thought that maybe some spanish sceners, of whom i know noone, ofcourse, might help me by simply correcting some stupid grammar mistakes in my writings, and maybe by reading and recording some texts i send, so that i can listen to them the whole day, like 'Omlette du Fromage', or something. I can help you learn traditional hungarian swearing in return, or we find out something else. Language learning method tips are also welcome :)

"anyone else?"..
hahahahaha
hahahahaha
it was like, ep threw virtual eggs on hhc2..
Make demos in spanish or instead watch some of them, is a good begining. I would recomend watching oldschool demos from spain, or better diskmags... and keep a good dictionary at hand :). em, you could start reading this for example http://www.becanne.net/, and btw www.escena.org is a good place to check... Two handy phrases: "Una birra por favor" and "Hola, te gustaria follar conmigo?" should do! XDDD buena suerte!
Muchas gracias :) that second one sounds really useful :)
I'm afraid i will sooner be able to discuss demos in spanish than to book a room in a hotel or ask for direction :)

hhc2:
best advice I can give for anyone learning a language is:
-buy a nice textbook (duh)
-use a flash card program to learn the vocabulary and sentence patterns. this is super boring, but it´s the only way as far as I´m concerned.
Oh, by this I mean using a program into which you will type *all* the vocabulary you learn in each of the textbook´s lessons, and it will then ask you to translate to/from spanish. they´re especially useful because these programs can usually be configured to ask you the stuff you miss more often, i.e. the stuff you have trouble with. this is great to put the vocabulary into your long-term memory.
If you have a pda you might want to use it to put the flash card program in there, and practice in the subway on your way to work or uni or something.
-watch lots of (subtitled) spanish films: spanish films aren´t so bad, you might enjoy some of it. and your listening / speaking skills will improve dramatically, plus it´s a morale boost when you start understanding complete sentences, then complete dialogs and so on. google + emule will be useful for finding and downloading the films.
-then, once you can speak a bit come hang out with us at escena.org :) Unfortunately, most of the spanish sceners I know are busy with work and so on, no time left to be part-time unpaid spanish teachers :(
good luck!

another tip:
-mote to spain for a while (don't move to south spain as the accent there is quite hard :D), once there.. find a cheap cinema, and watch as many movies as possible.

And remember that the most important (and only required) sentences in any language to know are:
1. "One beer please" - Un cerveza por favor
2. "Two beers please" - Dos cervezs por favor
3. "More beer please" - Mas cerveza por favor
4. "May i have the cheque" - La quenta por favor.
and last, but not least:
5. "Where is the shoe shop?" - Donde esta zapateria?
(yes, my spanish sucks. i studied it for 3 weeks 10 years ago)

uncle: your english is better than your spanish!
Para aprender español tienes que tener una cosa muy presente:
No es lo mismo "calculo PI" que "PI calculo". No es lo mismo.
