There is something terribly wrong with the "Pain Votes" Applet. Once i click on a choice, it writes it to a totally random place! Should "Pain random votes" ;)

Dip: no problem, it was just too weird that A500 and Atari ST be in different categories :)

• For Atari ST, it's pretty straightforward: it was released before the Amiga 500 and had a weaker hardware (no copper, no blitter, no paula), so it should definitely be in the same category as A500: 'oldskool'
  


• Atari STE's hardware was still no match for an A500 but was closer than the basic ST was, therefore it makes sense to have it in the same category as well: in 'newskool'
  


• Falcon Appeared in 1992 and was supposed (afair) to be A1200's rival, therefore they indeed belong to the same category, as you already did it :)
  

and no, Amiga 500 was not a 8 bits computer, but YOU knew that ;)

movi: well, enable javascript for it. it fills the x'th field from the starting of the form, x given when clicking on "pain votes". this works as long as you don't have any custom style sheets or special frames/toolbars whatever installed. i might fix that thing to _always_ write to the right location somewhen, but i prefer investing my time to articles and shit now ;-)

unlock : i use Safari (2.0.1) with javascript turned on, no weird add-ons and shit. Havent tried Camino yet though.. First off it jumped only a couple (2-3) places, but later on it jumped full categories (graphics would show up in Amiga demo and so on).

movi: well yes, i of course didn't test the shit on a mac or something, just switch to firefox and it will work :) anyway, it uses pretty-much-standard-numbering of form elements. if safari doesn't follow that thing, i don't know :) until it's fixed or whatever, you should consider filling your votesheet manually. thanks ;-)

Keops: I moved Atarti ST and STE to the oldschool category. What about Atari TT? Or is an Atari TT something belonging into the same category as Falcon or what?

All: Any other wishes about the categorization you'd like to discuss?

Atari TT should probably be in the same category as Falcon indeed. It's got a faster CPU (32 vs. 16mhz) and RAM, but no DSP or TrueColor.

However, it's a bit of a pointless discussion since there's only a handful of TT prods- none of which is likely to make it anywhere near the charts anyhow.

Maybe an unimportant detail but what about changing "best [something]" into "most popular [something]" ? That'll be closer to the truth.

hitchhikr: that's quibbling. but we'll see, i won't change it for the remaining 10 days, but probably next time.

How about ditching all alternative platforms considering that its a PC diskmag and C64/Amiga/etc. all have their respective charts and diskmags already? I think it's better to be specific than to try and agglomerate everything.
